Mounts are very expensive, is it justified?

WoD happened two expansions ago, that’s where most of the gold was made. However, mounts now days are very expensive that it is starting to feel like Blizzard needs to reevaluate their analyzes.

There are the frogs for 333k each, there is a dinosaur mount for 500k, I hear the reputation mounts are going to be 90k each.

This is a lot more expensive than Legion or WoD mounts ever were, but the gold making is not the same?

Kinda? i mean they have 1m subs left, very limited resource to make cool things and they need to fill the MAU quota, might as well use the super loyal remaining playerbase to get it.

Expensive mounts means that (a) not everyone under the sun can just go get them and (b) encourages people to buy tokens.

The whole point of super expensive mounts is a money sink for the wealthiest players. Inflation was out of control in WoD and Legion, they are trying to rein that in.

The price for BfA mounts doesn’t have a thing to do with WoD though. And it is still fairly easy to make gold, you just don’t get to click for the instant version that WoD had.

Got a source on this?

I just bought the Brutosaur… In relation to that, the frogs are cheap lol

But yea. Joking aside, prices are going up on that stuff and income… Isn’t.

That’s why they are so expensive; remove gold from the game. Inflation skyrocketed with WoD and Legion. It’s going to take a long time for it to get balanced again; if ever.

i do think they’re overdoing it with the price on the rep ones however having expensive mounts like the Brutosuar or frogs is fine. Gold making is just another type of content.

They need to pretty much keep making mounts like these cuz of all the gold WoD and Legion brought. Its a lot of years people had time to farm gold. And people are still making so much gold or you wouldnt have people selling runs of any kind for gold.

I do not have this mount, but I can say it is well worth the 500k price tag since it isn’t just simply a mount, but has a vendor and AH ability.
I remember back in MoP ppl spazzed a bit about the yak, not taking into consideration the fact that it wasn’t just a mount, or a vendor, but carries the xmog ability.
These types of mounts you’re paying for quality.
As for the frogs, meh - don’t see anything super stupendous about them other than the fact they hop.
The re-skinned gryphons are RIGHT NOW on the ptr for 90k…but I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped that price once 8.2 goes live. Also wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t change a thing. lol

I mean i can see the "useful’ mounts being outrageous , but the basic stuff is unreal!

I mean did you see the gryphon being added for proudmoore , basically looks like Galeheart?? 90k!!!

What the fellllllllll

It’s 5 million, not 500k

The auctioneer mount is five million not five hundred thousand. I believe he is talking about that white triceratops looking mount which a vender sells for 500k

Welcome to Common Core Math.
Brought to you by the incompetents at Blizzard.

It’s a means of economic control. Dont worry about it. Grab if it if you’ve got it. If not… save your 800k for when the market crashes

I think it aint worth 500K…but being 5 MILLION???
Theyre smoking something better than most can afford to come up with these absurd prices.

Thanks, didn’t know about that one - mounts this go round have brought absolutely no interest my way so I do appreciate your info.

See comment above to Olivvia.

If you’re a mount collector, then I guess it’s justified. If you’re not, like me, then absolutely not. I did get the transmog mount, and gritted my teeth the whole time I was doing the transaction, but it’s been totally worth it.

So you need to weigh the need and want to determine if it’s justified.

I mean people buy them. I don’t think they’re meant for everyone.
