Mounts and Transmogs lost

I’m absolutely certain that I had gone and farmed up the Drake of the North Wind at the end of Cataclysm. (A drop from Altairus) I chain-ran that place on my Shaman in enhance until it dropped.

I also noticed that, when I came back to the game in BFA (After leaving at the beginning of WoD) I have lost several transmogs. For example, the purple recolor of the Paladin Judgment set - which I had farmed up on my Death Knight and used repeatedly through MoP.

So then the question is: what else have I lost here? And isn’t retaining gains a crucial part of any MMO?

Did any of the things you lost actually get added to the collections when it was implemented? Mount collection was implemented in MoP and transmog collection was implemented in Legion.

Was the wardrobe implemented at the start of Legion? That would add up. I had to recently remake the wod engineering gun, all 3 stages. I for sure had made one during wod, but didn’t have them unlocked.

i blame teh torghast bosses

That is a question best asked of those who can answer it - a Blizzard employee.

Put in a ticket or ask on the Customer Support forum, with all the details you can provide.

What do you mean losing transmogs? People are losing transmogs?

I’m sorry, what do you mean?

Mounts collected before MoP are supposed to still be there.

And Transmog was definitely around before Legion.

Yes, but only if you logged into the character that had it. MoP is when the account-wide mount collection was implemented. If you didn’t log in with the character that learned it, it wouldn’t be added to the collection.

The wardrobe wasn’t though. Before Legion you had to have the piece of gear on you to transmog. If you got rid of it before it was added to the wardrobe, you won’t have it now.

Your problem could also just be filters on the mount and wardrobe collection being toggled. People have issues with that all the time. Make sure all of the checkboxes are checked on the filters.

Have you logged into the characters that unlocked the mog and mounts recently? Sometimes the game won’t know you have that stuff if you don’t log into the character that got it before it starts collecting that info.

youre not alone.
I had them do the simple job of moving a wow account from one Bnet to another. shouldnt have lost anything. I even asked before they did it if this was going to cause any problems and was assured it wouldnt.
Well…it did. Lost numerous mounts which I very quickly pointed out.
i was basically told to stuff it. I’d have to do the work to get them again.

You asked…“And isn’t retaining gains a crucial part of any MMO?”

yeah…it is. And based on their blasé attitude about THEIR losing stuff i worked for left me unwilling to put any amount of work into farming anything again that isnt either super quick and easy…or something that just happens as a result of playing the game.

It was but you always had to have the piece in your bags or bank or void storage until Legion.

I guess I don’t even remember when mounts got implemented into its own tab instead of just being a part of someone’s bag slot.

If you farmed the mount before that tab was created, then delete the character or the mount you wouldn’t have the mount in the tab. I believe when all that got transferred over mounts became what they are now where you earn the mount item, then right click to earn it.

So the question is is it possible the mount is sitting in your bags somewhere? Bank or otherwise?

Yes, but it also started off with a tmog bank area where you had to keep pieces as opposed to earning an item and learning the mog once it became soulbind. There’s plenty of transmog I lost because I had it at one point, but got bored with the set and vendored it before they implemented the system we have today.

So you went through all of MoP and BfA without noticing you were missing that mount?

Something smells.

No, that is definitely working as intended. All collections are at the battle.net level, transferring a character or moving a license only takes things specific to that license with it and that is how it has always worked, aside from a very brief time when account-wide mounts were first introduced and people sold characters from accounts with lots of rare mounts because it worked how you imagined it should.

They almost immediately changed it and nothing has transferred across battle.net accounts aside from gladiator mounts since then. And gladiator mounts don’t even transfer anymore.

Yeah what Bluster said. I don’t know who told you you would keep everything when you were moving your accounts around but they gave you false information.

I was told upfront when I split my daughter’s account from mine that what transmogs, mounts and pets that would follow was up in the air and to not expect much. Some things did transmog but most of it didn’t.

no…lol…its not.
SHE TOLD ME she could SEE that i SHOULD HAVE the mounts…but they wouldnt replace them.

It was actually added at the end of WoD. Before the pre-patch I think.

Not sure about the missing mounts, but I have noticed some transmogs have been consolidated under similar looks and they name they fall under may not be obvious.

It absolutely is. Personally after reading many of your posts on this forum I’d be more inclined to believe you are either lying about what a GM said or you misinterpreted it, but you could have even just done a cursory google search or looked at their support articles and would have seen that nearly nothing aside from what is in your bags, sometimes glory mounts from raid achievements and gladiator mounts transfer.

Something does smell. I do have a lot of mounts. But I know I farmed that one up. I specifically made that my project on a certain day.

I only noticed it missing recently… I left at the end of MOP, and came back at the last bit of BFA.
