when mounting on the windborne velocidrake it puts the camera up so high my character is hidden behind behind my action bars
Yes, I’m like 100 feet up in the air over the mount that is on the ground. I play 3rd person, But it’s the same if I zoom in to first person as well.
Myself and my mount are way down there under my action bars. Once I take flight that is fine, land though and it’s back where my visual is up in the air and I’m down there on my mount hidden by the action UI. lol
Only on the velocidrake so far, other mounts are normal.
And of course this is one of my favorite mounts… lol
I have the same issue. Disabled all addons and it persisted. Mine seems to put the character right at the bottom of the screen where I can see my characters head only…
I am also having this issue, which is unfortunate because this is my favorite mount. I mentioned it in my guild and all of my guildies also said it was happening to them when they tried it.
It’s also impacting any mount that uses the same rig, like the Pterrodax mounts.
here to report this happens to me as well with ALL addons disabled. No other rig ive tested has this issue only velocidrake style mounts
Same issue. zero addons. I use a waterwalking macro on my shaman, but issue persists even without it. it is the ONLY mount I tested that moves the camera.
Having the same issue here as well. I noticed that the Armored Golden Pterrodax has the same issues, likely thanks to them having the same animations.
This bug bums me out a lot, because my velocidrake is my favorite mount for pretty much anything.

This also happens with the new K’arroc mounts you get in K’aresh. I believe it uses the same base model.
Mounting the Renewed Proto-Drake has a similar issue where the camera is placed higher above the character at all times, not as jarring as the Windborne Velocidrake issue but similar, maybe even related.
So this issue seems to be inconsistent across platforms. On macOS I have certain ones that do this and on Windows these mounts are fine. When a mount is summoned it should move the camera up or down to keep the player character in the center or 3/4 portion of the screen. In these cases though the camera is moved up way higher than needed and puts the mount behind 3 action bars entirely with the player character barely visible.
I have ~700 mounts available to use on this character and tried them all. I found the following list to always move the camera too high.

- Captured Swampstalker
- Cobalt Pterrordax
- Cryptic Aurelid
- Depthstalker
- Dread Raven
- Spectral Pterrorwing

- Boneswen Fleshroc
- Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm (partially)
- Night Pterrorwing
- Scarlet Pterrordax
- Slate Primordial Direhorn
- Spawn of Horridon
These were all tested today on the macOS client. As you can see there are some similarities, but it’s not consistent. Not all pterrordax models do this. For example the Jade Pterrordax, Predatory Plagueroc and Colossal Slaughterclaw share the same model but do not move the camera too high. Same thing with the dire horn model. Also the Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm seems to move the camera slightly too high but not as high as the others. So it’s a smaller issue. I can’t seem to find a pattern here that fully matches but maybe someone with internal tools will.
The mounts that can fly does move the mount higher on the screen but it is still lower than mounts without this issue. Landing again, relogging and turning off addons does not resolve it. I’ve tried swapping mount flying styles with no change to this issue. This issue cropped up with 11.2’s release for me. And it’s the first time I’ve seen this issue come up before. But it was has been resolved. Hopefully the same can be done here.
I have collected 900 mounts and yes I went through all of them. I also cleared the cache, and ensured the problem existed with NO addons enabled. Reload does fix this, until you go to remount one of the listed mounts after using an entirely different mount that has not been listed…
Mounts also affected that are not listed by Varisar:
- Armored Skyscreamer
- Bloody Skyscreamer
- Colossal Slaughterclaw
- Hulking Deathroc
- Jade Pterrordax
- Predatory Plagueroc
Also want to mention Vengence, older Dragonhawks, and the new Midnight Dragonhawks.
Vengence seems to raise my character a bit higher (above centerline of the screen) than most mounts, while still on the ground. However, the moment you start flying any of these mounts, the mount dips back down where it should be, just below the centerline of the screen. All my dragonhawk mounts seem to have this same problem. It should be noted the mana rays also seem to do this same repositioning motion as well, just not as aggressively as Vengence and the dragonhawk mounts.
Voidlight Surger, Lightwing Dragonhawk & Voidwing Dragonhawk Do Not share this issue at all with the rest of the Dragonhawk mounts.
I’m having the same issue. Interestingly you can fix it by looking straight up and having the camera clip into an object with collision? Which is not a fix at all as its very finicky. But I thought it was fixed this morning but instead my camera clipped into a statue.
Same issue, would love to see this addressed before Halloween event. Have the Hollows End saddle.
i’ve (accidentally) noticed that after a /reloadui (while still mounted on an affected mount) results in the camera being in the “correct” positon. dismounting and re-mounting from that point puts the camera back into the broken position. such an annoying bug.

Only happens when on the ground. Once you take off, the camera angle fixes itself.
This bug also is impacting the new flyer mounts from Karesh, as they use the same rig. Blizz, please fix this, it’s deeply annoying.
Also now impacting all the octopus based mounts. Is this bug spreading?
