Mountain Thane looks terrible

Calling down lightning from the sky to smite my enemies is not part of the warrior class fantasy or class identity. Full stop. We are not Shamans. We are not Thrall.

But if it’s anything like Warriors this expansion then it will probably just go live without asking for feedback and will not be iterated on.

Adding Thunderclap to fury is going to be annoying. Prot has a ton of buttons already and you’re adding more like intervene now too, something that could’ve been avoided before.

I like the concept of hero classes, just wish they were being developed by people who actually play the classes is all.

I hope Slayer is good because having an ability called Thunder Blast is just completely antithetical to warrior class fantasy, to me.

Considering Blizzard did not make official feedback threads for Warrior going into 10.1 or 10.2 like every other class got, I doubt they’re looking too closely.

I think they are replacing WW with Thunderclap, which I am actually a fan of. I have been complaining about WW not doing much damage, being only an AOE activator for a long time. But if they actually replace WW with thunderclap it could feel really good! You actually have a skill that does damage and ALSO activates your 5-target cleave.

Not saying it’s the best we can get but definitely better then what we have right now.

By the way it reads it only makes thunderclap benefit from meat cleaver and improved ww, it doesn’t say it replaces ww. I think you’ll be using both

Stormstrike is just Physical + Nature damage combined, it has nothing to do with the Shaman ability (which funnily enough, doesn’t do Stormstrike damage, it does Physical damage).

You will certainly not be using both. Whirlwind is only used to enable your other attacks to cleave, the damage it does by itself is meaningless. If TClap fills that role better (which seems it will as a Mountain Thane), there is simply never a reason to use Whirlwind, which is fine.

You won’t be using both. The effect of enhanced whirlwind and meat cleaver is “your next 4 ST abilities cleave” along with rage gen and increased damage. It’s more than likely that TC is now going to give that cleave effect since it will now benefit from everything in those two talents

Let’s be real: We’re probably all playing Slayer or Colossus for DPS anyway. ;0

very redundant with whirlwind and odyns

The way I read it, that talent says Thunder Clap’s damage is buffed by Improved Whilwind and Meat Cleaver. It doesn’t say Thunder Clap will provide their single target cleave bonus.

The talent reads:

Improved Whirlwind and Meat Cleaver now improve Thunder Clap as well as Whirlwind

It is not exclusive to the damage.

Yeah, sounds like it’s improving TC’s damage in the same way they improve WW’s damage

It doesn’t mention the single target damage cleave

The cleave is part of the improvement.

Not how I sees it :person_shrugging:

Not sure how you’re missing it. It says it’s improved by those talents. Those talents literally say “Your next 2/4 single-target attacks…”

If they only meant for the damage to be increased the wording would be something like “Thunderclap’s damage is now also improved by…” not “Improved Whitlwind and Meat Cleaver now improve Thunderclap AS WELL AS Whirlwind.”

The wording pretty clearly indicates it’s going to have the same effects provided by those talents

I just wonder how will this affect Storm of Swords, since it doesn’t inherit it’s effect. I think they’ll ditch some talents for next xpac…

I don’t mind the lightning stuff because it’s relative to Odyn and Thorim. But I also think Mountain Thane is too Dwarf lore specific to feel ok for all Warriors.

People requested Glad, Blademaster and Spellbreaker. So things feel a little disappointing.

I hope it at least feels good to play.

Mountain Thane feels too race specific but Blademaster doesn’t? Cmon

It’d balance it out at least if they have both. Right now we have Mountain Thane and that’s pretty much it for themes.
