Mountain Dew Promotion...HUH?

Evening, folks. While browsing my battle pet log, looking for pets I have more than one copy of to give to my guild, I came across one that I do not recall collecting, and how you get it is also questionable.

The pet in question can only be obtained by a “Mountain Dew Promotion”. What the hell was that promotion? And also, since I don’t purchase or consume Mountain Dew (especially considering the fact it has too high of a sugar to hydration ratio to be considered a drink), how would I have ever obtained that battle pet if I never purchased that “drink”.

Obviously, my memory is failing me (probably a combination of the weather, trying to get my fellow students back into learning mode after a day off due to Arctic death blast, and tiredness), so would someone please jog my memory as to what this battle pet and promotion was all about, and how I might’ve obtained it if I never purchased any Mountain Dew?

I have it, it was from an event years ago.

Warbot. When blue and code red were being promoted

Not sure if that was the one that brought btag into the game or not

Yeah, think there was a blue and red robot pet - or the fuel needed was colored like that.

I don’t remember buying Mt. Dew for it tho…could’ve been some kind of code thing on their website.

Was too long ago to remember gud.

You can get it for like 200g from the toy NPC at Stormwing/Orgrimmar.

I think we had to merge our acct into btag for it

Nope, no recollection. You’re probably right though.

I have WoW-pseudo-alzheimers or something that can’t remember nuthin much except random esoteric crud info sometimes.

I am pretty sure it was connected to the battle net merger. I just looked through some stuff, I still have one of the boxes from the promotion but all it says is visit Warcraft’s website for more details.

You can buy it from toy vendors in various cities. At one time, you could also buy “red fuel” and “blue fuel” I believe, and have them fight, if two people had differently-fueled bots out.

It’s a pretty good battle bet, I use it for Minefield on the Darkmoon pet fight with the stun-happy monkey.

In 2009, Mountain Dew restarted the Game Fuel promotion for 10 weeks, this time releasing two different flavors and promoting the Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, World of Warcraft

One of these two flavors was the same formula as the 2007 Game Fuel, renamed “Horde Red” and with World of Warcraft packaging and an updated “Mtn Dew” logo. The other flavor for this promotion was a newly created Wild Fruit-flavored Mountain Dew. It was named “Alliance Blue” and was bright-blue colored.

ohhhh that’s pretty old. from Vanilla old i believe maybe TBC alliance got blue horde got red

You can still go get him and his fuel.

There’s a goblin pushing a cart thru the Drag in Org that sells the pet. Not sure who sells it in SW.

I still have a bottle of the alliance Mt Dew somewhere. The Horde one was always sold out so I couldn’t find it

It was literally a decade ago.

You got the little warbot and some items to fill it up with whatever color mountain dew you bought.

Good times. Too bad we don’t ever get stuff like that anymore.

This link will give ya plenty of information on the Warbot.

It basically says what others have already said on this thread but it also provides you a link to a site that has plenty of information on all the other battle pets.
