I have good news, in shadowlands they reduced the required rating to winning games above 1000 and all previous vicious mounts can be purchased now once you get a saddle after earning the current season’s vicious mount
Would highly suggest you give it a go at the start of next season as they’re adding a beautiful glowing wolf as well! 
2s with a friend or rbgs with your guild, all count towards the progress. Progress is shared between characters of the same faction as well

black or red Fel Reaver whose /mountspecial is a Fel Reaver siren that all players can hear. I’ll get jealouswhen I see that.
Closet I came to envy might’ve been the time I saw someone standing on a flying silver disc mount. I only saw it once, so not even sure I saw it. He was standing on it and minded me of silver surfer though.
Longboy. Purely for practical reasons.
I have the Magic rooster. That’s enough for me.

I’m kind of with Kaurmine on this one.
I value utility slightly over aesthetics.
The only 2 mounts I really strived for are the Yak and the Sandstone drake.
Being able to repair and vend nearly anywhere and the ability to fly while carrying another player were what made them valuable to me.
Other mounts are very cool looking but, if it can’t run or fly faster than my basic griffon/wyvern or do something beneficial like repair my gear while in flight or something, what’s the point?
The MoP challenge mode mounts.
Mostly because I could have gotten then, I really wanted them for the entire expansion, I just got too lazy and then when I learned they were temporary I was burnt out.

If i’m completely honest with myself, that’s probably the only reason i want it too, my daily driver is the Magic Rooster and i never seem to touch anything else so far as ground mounts go, when i fly i use the Ghastly Charger just because it’s small and quiet.
Teal kodo. I saw it only once on Detheroc years ago. The vendor stopped selling it early Vanilla so not many people were able to buy one

The Plagued Proto Drake. I always loved the colors. Now will never get it unless they add it to the bmah as they did with the black proto drake.
You have it around the wrong way, the plagued is on the BMAH, not the black.

Rivendare’s Deathcharger
I’ll tell you why. In Wotlk when I was new I was forced to play Alliance because my irl best friend wanted to be a night elf and she wasn’t budging when I pleaded to play horde. So I picked the coolest-looking Alliance character which was Draenei. The Draenei mount however was pathetic. I got stuck on everything including ground clutter. When a dk put path of frost up for shortcuts through water, most of the time I had to swim to a rock and walk onto the water because my fat stubby mount couldn’t make the jump.
I had a thing for the forsaken, I loved the way they looked, I loved their mounts, just everything about them I loved. My friends knew how badly I needed to ditch my Elekk and they wanted me to have a mount that wasn’t a problem causer for everyone involved.
I was lucky enough to have a guild that supported me and I had a few level 80’s at my disposal that helped me out by running me through dungeons and just simple things.
So one time I was running Stratholme with one of the level 80 friends I had and Rivendare’s Deathcharger, a replica of the undead mount, my favorite color, dropped. My friend was so trigger happy that he saw purple and hit need and learned it before realizing what he had done. He ran me through that dungeon every day for 3 weeks before giving up.
When I farm it, the more I run the dungeon with no luck the more discouraging I get because of that event. It’s like how I never take flight paths through Storm Peaks because of the few times I watched someone butcher the Time-Lost Proto drake while on a flight path, powerless and forced to sit there and watch.

Cata Gladiator Drake. I didn’t push glad during cata so I didn’t get one. Biggest regret.

The Love Rocket. Every year I try with every eligible character, on four accounts. I’m not a miserable person but each year, when Love is in the Air finishes I feel a bit empty and down.
It’s just a lot of work for little reward! But I quickly feel positive for the following year, so maybe this year?
Also, as a Collector, I’m sad I missed out on some of the removed-from-the-game mounts; like the original Armani Bear, the Zulian Tiger, The Ulduar Drakes.
But the Mount I would MOST like would be the original Ancient Frostsaber. I was so close to saving enough money to buy it when they changed it.

Lol and it is vastly more difficult to purchase on black market than it was on zul gurub. It just refused to drop for me and alot of others.
