Mount skill in TBC and other little detail things

This thread will be updated more later, I only have so much time right now, but figured it would be nice for people who don’t know these mundane details to have access to this information since I don’t see anything in the forums about it.

The following is how things are right now on the TBC BETA, so take that with a grain of salt that it can possibly change.

Mount skill conversion and how it appears to work.

  1. Epic mounts presently that you buy require 150 riding skill. If you have one of these when the game transitions to 2.0 you will be given 150 riding skill.
  2. Paladin / Warlock epic quest provides you 150 skill (allegedly) have not confirmed my self.
  3. Old PVP mounts that you got in the PVP grind have a 75 required skill, if you have one of these it will award you with 75 riding skill when the game transitions to 2.0. These now require level 55 changed from “requires level 40” to use meaning your level 49 “twink” cant use these any more.
  4. AV Ram / Wolf Requires 150 Riding skill. If you have one of these it will award you with 150 riding skill when the game transitions to 2.0
  5. Still looking into ZG / Bug mount (I do not have these)
  6. NEW PVP BADGE MOUNTS These require level 150 epic riding skill, you will need to purchase 150 riding skill to use these mounts.

Bank

  1. Guild bank stuff appears in game, not sure if its active yet (likely soon)
  2. There are 7 Bank Bag slots in the standard bank up from the vanilla 6. The cost for the 7th bag slot is 25 Gold.
3 There are 28 standard Bank slots in the TBC bank up from the Vanilla 24 bank slots.

Stat conversions

  1. Items with “Weapon Skill” such as Dagger, Swords, Axes, Maces etc, this stat become Expertise rating.
For example, Aged Core leather Gloves provided 5 Dagger skill, but in TBC this becomes 12 Expertise Rating or 4 Expertise Value. At level 60 12 expertise rating (4 Expertise value) reduces your chance to be dodged or parried by 1%.

  2. Hit % to Hit Rating @ level 60 that you’re familiar with, each %Hit becomes 10 rating and at level 60 that value is the same. being 10 rating @ 60 = 1% hit.

  3. Critical Strike % to Rating. Former 1% Crit items become 14 Rating, the value at 60 is the same.

Human racials

  1. Human Spirit (Spirit Stat)+10% (up from +5% in classic)
  2. Sword and mace Weapon skill changed to Expertise +5 for Sword and Mace, (not to be confused with “Rating”), this is actually very strong in T4 content. 5 Expertise is 1.25% reduced chance to be dodged or parried. This value stacks with Expertise rating on gear.
  3. 10% faster faction gains

Friendly / Unfriendly name plates.

Presently use the same distance as Classic Vanilla ~25 yards.

Auto Dismount

This is in game, it works, its instant, not on GCD (if you were wondering)
There is also a toggle for autodismount for flying, ground mount version is on by default, flying is off by default.

Focus Frames

  1. Focus frames and macro are part of TBC
  2. ARENA target frames and arena targeting 1,2,3 in TBC is in game. (Yay!)

PvP Stuff

  1. Classic Vanilla Battle ground Tokens are usable in TBC and you can store them for pre-patch or just store them for level 70 PvP items that you will want.
  2. Classic Vanilla “Honor” or Contribution points do not transfer at all into the TBC format.
  3. Your highest Vanilla Classic PvP rank can be used as a title. There is even an NPC who will regardless of your shown title address you by your title rank. I’ll let you find that NPC, it’s out in the wild world of the Outland!
  4. Dungeon Reputation PVP sets are not at the vendors in this phase of the game.

Characters per account per server.

  1. You can have 10 characters per account per server (present limit)

Itemization of armor and weapons.

Overall Itemization of armor and weapons is in the 2.4.3 game state.
For example if you have the level 60 PVP trinket it will be updated to the 2.4.3 version that removes all forms of CC that cause loss of control of your character.

Character & Game State.

  1. Characters appear to be in the 2.4.3 game state; for example Blind no longer requires blinding powder and is now physical making Paladin BoP the only way to clear blind.
  2. Character sheet contains more information, such as Hit rating, Expertise rating, Weapon speed, and so on.

More to come later.

So wait, if you have (e.g.) a Black War Kodo, you still only get Apprentice Riding for it?

If you have any 100% mount you should get 150 riding from it. That’s how it worked before.

Presently the information I have available checks out. Still waiting on confirmation of the bug and ZG mounts; I’ll get a second source on the PvP only mount thing.
