Is this programmed to be like 99% Legion mounts and up? It’s all “modern” wow mounts. Where are the old ones?
It’s random. I’ve seen older ones regularly. I feel like there’s a nether drake color in pretty much every event I’ve done.

I rarely, if ever see anything from Classic to Cata. I will get a drake from Cata occasionally but I never seen anything from first 3 of classic. They need to work on their RNG.
Many of the vanilla and BC mounts minus a few are faction specific. Only see mounts that are usable by both factions.

There’s nearly 1000 mounts in game. And we get to see 15 each event.
She mounted up on a basic gryphon the other day.

They can’t make it completely random, otherwise they risk having entire sets where it’s all rare mounts. That’s why there are always a few freebies (DF dragonriding mounts, etc) every single round. Newer mounts are straight up more common simply because more (currently active) players have done that content.
Most of the classic mounts are also faction specific. I’ve seen mounts going all the way back to BC on occasion, but I don’t recall ever seeing anything faction (or class) specific in the lineup.
The classic pool would be: razz raptor, tiger, and the deathcharger at least.
I wonder if there is a breakdown of unique mounts per expansion. I feel that the more recent expansions have had many more mounts compared to the older expansions…which might explain the apparent recency bias.
I know Shadowlands was chock ful of mounts, half of which I still don’t have.
I’ve seen her summon the Winterspring alliance cat multiple times but never the horde raptor from Un’Goro. The one that blew my mind was one I had forget ever existed - I even had to look it up real quick:

I thought I had a lot of rare mounts until I tried playing that game. I was humbled very quickly! Half the time I’m googling where the mounts I’m seeing are from!

I suspect the bias is just an illusion created by there being a larger number of mounts available in more recent expansions.
I saw she summoned the Black Proto Drake too. No player summoned it.
I really want Blizz bring back this mount in some way. They brought in the last 2 years so many items mounts pets and toys back that were no longer obtainable and were exclusive so bring back this drake then.
It seems to be pretty random. I think a bias may be mostly anecdotal.
I was so happy to have pureheart courser called after finally getting 100 exalted reps.
I would like to see plagued proto drake before the event is over so I can feel special for 10 seconds.
