Concerning specifically the spring butterfly. The one from the trading post and the new Twilight event?
I know that they’re both just recolors, so anyways…
What if it worked like this sandstone Drake where it turns you into the butterfly instead of mounting you on the butterfly?
It would make sense since it’s fairy themed. I think it would be really cool if we could do that. That’s the cool idea.

What if instead, we had a questline to go to Shapeshifter school or something, and at the end you learn a skill that you can turn on and off, and if it’s on you transform into your mount instead of riding it.
So basically you can be any mount you want

Iridescent butterflies 
for the win. Have translucent iridescent butterfly wings and a fairy costume, a hue shifting fairy leopard mount, and a nymph pet.
There’s actually a lot of mounts I don’t use because the rider looks kinda silly, like the Draenor ravens and Ka’resh birbs.
If I had the option to ditch the rider and just be the mount that would open up a lot of options for me.
