We have some awesome mounts in the game. There are some “lol” pop culture references through the world of warcraft. Why not Famous dragons from literature. Some examples:
Falcore: Neverending Store
Smaug: LOTR
Kazul: Dealing with Dragon
Shenron: DBZ
Draco: Dragonheart
Glaurung: The Silmarillion Father of all Drakes in Middle earth.
To name a few. You could sell them in the shop and donate a % of sales to a child’s reading program. It doesn’t need to be just dragons. Just a thought
Luck dragons actually exist already. You can get purple, green, white, and yellow atm. They made a pink one but you can’t get it.
This could be interesting, what about Quetzal as a dragon mount?

Not really a luch dragon. yes it is a flying dog that has been stretched, but not where i was going.
Sadly the main issue for adding new shaped mounts and mobs is that Blizz does not like rigging new skeletons. It’s expensive. To make something look different enough to the existing ingame mounts would require extra labor and though I am convinced the folks in their assets departments would LOVE to get to do that I fear we will not see much news in that regard in a long time.
The last time we got a unique animated animal was from the Valor Chinese new years reward - and that was created by a different studio entirely (hence why we only got the mount and pet, not the transmog).
I would also probably prefer to have mounts not be based on existing series. Part of what makes the visual design of WoW work so well is that they are consistent with their design philosophy. You could create some that are loosely inspired by the dragons you listed, but never the same. The ardenweald puppers are about as close as you’ll get to Falcore - we do have a white one - and we have the cloud serpents for Shenron. I know it’s not the same. But starting to add crossovers that are clearly from a different franchise into WoW would look awful and move the cash shop in a direction I think nobody wants.
I still want a Giant Yeti/Monster mount where it’s holding you in its hand. 2 seater mount, where it can hold a party member in the other hand
