That has been the new complaint about them recently, At least people are saying on the ptr you can only carry 1. Would not surprise me one bit, they have to make it nearly impossible to get it when you need it. Mount equipment brings nothing to the game that is not already available. It’s being added for one reason only, to kill the water strider. Out of 700+ mounts only 1 is losing its ability, the water strider.

Admittedly I don’t know when the last time I used my mounts in any situation, but I know that that’s #JustDruidThings. I agree the water strider should have kept its functionality and not been affected by other mount equipment, but remember Blizzard has hated the water strider since the end of WoD when they tried to limit it to the expansion it came in. This is just them hating it enough to break it, a lot like how they hate flying.

It’s a crap change designed to force players to keep updating their mount equipment (gold sink) while Blizzard keeps padding in ever more wasted time with environmental design (no flying, water obstacles, packed with daze / dismount mobs, vertical stacked terrain, terrain mazes).
If this been an actual improvement designed for the benefit of players, equipment would be per mount, and mounts with pre-existing features such as the water strider with water walking would not be affected.

If they insist on moving forward with mount equipment… fine. At the very least they should have kept the water walking equipment pc. With the same requirement for obtaining the water strider, it took me along time to earn that, for it to be completely devalued.

except you’re ignoring the fact that Death Knights use path of frost while in combat too. scenarios when you cant mount up but need to cross water. such as chasing a fleeing druid player who jumped in the lake behind goldshire and is trying to escape in waterform, but didn’t count on your path of frost so you can stay right on them and keep attacking, and give your friends in the same wpvp group as you the same perk.

Good? The MoP strider should have been obsoleted when WoD launched. Then maybe we’d have a bit less entitlement around here over it all.

I’ve always eyerolled at the hissy fits over “dazing”. Obviously I have had some chars that have been dismounted when I tried to run through a horde, but that’s my fault for trying to roll the dice. In most cases you can, y’know, go around em.

personally I’ve always eyerolled at morons over dazing because literally it makes perfect sense…
Your character literally gets bashed in the head by someone’s biga55 weapon… so duh… or think of it your mount is bashed in the head or rears from the injuries it’s sustaining, so it knocks you off it’s back… So it’s more real and better immersion to be dazed/dismounted off a mount, as it makes zero sense that you can run through a crowd of mobs, get knocked around like a hood rat at a block party, and not be hindered one bit.

What I think people are missing is what we are winning and losing with this update.
Wins:
- You can use your favorite mount for any situation. The only exception being Sky Golem for herb/mining.
- Proffesions in current expension are going to have more utility. With this, gold makers now have something else to farm/sell.
- No need to farm old content rep in order to waterwalk.
Loses:
- People who farmed rep to get water strider had “lost” their time farming it. But they were able to waterwalk for a long time before someone who didn’t and they will get the equipment for free, so it was a “lost” of time.
Overall I like this change, because doing daily old content doesn’t feel as rewarding as doing new content. I highly prefer farming rep for a new ground mount than farming rep for water strider.

this is the #1 counterargument over people crying about an ugly waterstrider losing it’s uniqueness… i’d rather ride [Invisible] that dropped off the Lich King on the water, than my [Azure Waterstrider].
Who the heck had to do old content? I’ve had mine since Cataclysm and mounts are all account wide.
If you’re "I think this is good because I didn’t have it and didn’t want to earn it’, just say that. Don’t blame it on content that is nearly 8 years old.

yeah.its kinda ironic that it the same players in here foaming at us to EARN pathfinder, then they are ok with just getting water walking without EARNING it.

Water walking Potions have let you do that since BC. And why can’t they just leave the strider alone. People would still get their participation trophy and have their water walking and we would keep what we earned.

When I leveled this shaman, it didn’t matter which way I was facing, the first hit from ANY mob dazed her and she was constantly dazed while fighting until about level 40.
This mechanic sucks and is out dated.

heh. Yeah. I mean, just how hard was it to just make MORE water walking mounts for people than to ruin the existing ones.
Hey, I know, how about making a newer BOAT mount just water walk.

I guess they just havent taken some of the stuff some other players here WORKED FOR for no good reason yet, so its a bit hard for them to comprehend the issue .
Entitled in my mind is expecting ALL of ones mounts to water walk.

Thats exactly what they said. Its being removed from shamans and death knights.
Giving it via an item to all classes is not taking away anything its a great change giving more choices to everyone.
And those 700+ mounts are gaining abilities.

Things are obsoleted and retired every expansion, they were just a little late in getting the water-walker into that system of recycling as well.
