I am now waiting to see when they will be making the mounts, that carry transmog, traders and other special abilities, obsolete.

They already have. Why use the Tundra Mammoth if you have the Mogyak. Or even the mogyak if you have brutasaur?

More accurately: Players have to buy the water walking equipment because their designated water mount lost it’s core functionality.

They are giving you the water walking equipment for free if you had the strider. So your argument doesn’t really hold any…water. So use your free one on the strider if you love it so much. Or use it on the big stupid hippo, maybe the froggy. Now you have options

Last night I could log into any character and hop on my Strider and happily cross oceans if I wanted.

When I get home tonight I’ll log into my Priest and have mail…stupid floatie shoes for all my mounts. Then when I log into my Hunter… /sigh… I have to head on over to Pandaland and buy floatie shoes. Then my Mage… again with the buying floatie shoes… /sigh… Warrior? Go buy floatie shoes.

They ARE NOT replacing what we already had. They took our entire car and gave us a single hub cap back.

It goes on the character, not individual mounts. You get to pick ONE.

I hate to break it to you, but I would hazard a guess that MOST folks who have a waterstrider these days got it during a single TW event by BUYING the rep and running 1 TW dungeon on like 8 alts. That’s all it takes. Also, you’re getting your WW shoes for FREE if you already had the damned strider. The amount of “BOO HOO POOR ME” about this stupid mount that is like FIVE EXPANSIONS OLD is staggering. Personally? I’d rather NOT have to ride that piece of trash bug that is ugly as sin and just water walk on another mount of my choosing. Geez, OP, just build a bridge and get over it already.

Mobs in the new 8.2 areas will be adjusted so we’ll need parachute equipment in some areas, anti-daze in some, added speed in some and water-walking in some.

Or just unlock flying and not need any of these.
