Hello!
Semi-noob mount collector here with a question I can’t really find a clear answer on… Trying to get into collecting… Just hit my 250 mount achievement and got my Azure Drake and Pureblood Fire Hawk on the same day this last weekend
!
Anyway (I’m sure this has been asked many times before - apologies), does anyone know if drop chances are affected by the number of items a boss drops? I would think not, but I wanted to ask.
10Man TOT drops 2 items per boss but 25 man drops 4(?) items per boss. Do more items dropping mean more shots for one of those items to drop as a mount? Or, is it just mount % drop = x, and that’s it?
Thank you for your help!
It’s up to RNG, the number of loots you get from a boss does not matter.
The odds of a mount dropping from a particular kill stays the same from kill to kill. If it’s .01%, it’s that for your first attempt or your thousandth.
Generally, mounts are not counted in the limited number of normal loot drops a kill may have. If a Dragon Soul boss drops four pieces of normal loot, a mount would be a fifth low-probability drop.
It’s a flat drop chance % and that’s it. Check wowhead for the exact drop chance % for each mount that drops from a specific mob. For Island Expeditions mounts, etc. you can read the posts on wowhead, and you’ll get a general idea of the drop chance.
