My mount count is way off from what is in my achievement, I know not all mounts count. But now I watch the achievement when I get a new mount. For example, I got mounts from the vendors in Panda and the Love Festival vendor and the number doesn’t go up in my achievement. 270 Mounts listed but only 221 listed in my achievement. I really have only played one character so not sure what is going on. There can’t be 50 mounts that don’t count plus I watch it and it’s not moving when I buy new ones.
The journal includes any opposite-faction mounts that are automatically granted when you learn a mount on your faction. This includes all faction city mounts as well as a handful of other scattered ones. These generally make up the lion’s share of mounts that show in your journal count but don’t count for the achievement, because you can’t use those mounts on your current character.
(The achievement series itself just needs redesigned in light of the implementation of Warbands, but that is another issue entirely.)
Yeah, I’m still trying to figure this out. I’m on 1 server all Alliance and have 1 main. A few alts but none I really collected mounts on. So i’m still lost. Also seems when I buy mounts from vendors say the love festival or darkmoon or even yaks from Panda the mount count doesn’t go up on my achievement.
