Predatory Plagueroc dropped on your toon which is Necrolord or other Convenent ? been hearing reports that it drops only for Necrolord toons

Etiquette Question:
I was just camping Aeonaxx for like the 10,000th hour while working home office and OMG he spawned.
1st thought: OMG! Shoot it!
2nd thought: Announce in region chat so others can get as well.
3rd thought: Donāt take the chance.
(All this within about half a second)
I decided on just giving it one cobra shot to tag and then getting more people but it was one-shotted.
I had 1) a custom LFG open inviting people to my camping party for over an hour and 2) had asked in region chat when I first got there if there were any camping parties going.
As I flew down to collect my new mount (OMG I FINALLY GOT IT!) about 3-4 other people got there within 5-10 seconds. I am sure they were not very happy.
Is there an etiquette for old mount drops that need a tag and can be one shot?

People regularly make groups in the WoW Secret Finding Discord announcing whenever they spot it.
You couldāve /yelled that you saw it to prevent it to be killed by others but the problem wouldāve been Ally players that donāt understand what you say 
OTOH, if you had an open LFG group available and nobody joinedā¦ ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
