A week or so ago my collectors achievement reported 340 mounts. I then bought two new mounts from the Saberstalkers, thinking that it would make my total go up to 342, but it didn’t. For the next few days I checked the total, but it was always 340. I then got another new mount from somewhere. After learning it, I looked at the total and noticed it was now 343.
I have the same problem going on today. It’s showing 344, but I learned two new phalynx mounts today, so it should be 346.
Why does the total not update when I expect it to?
Are you buying mounts not usable on other chars? Like getting night fae mounts but checking on a kyrian character? Or vice versa.
Hmm are you learning them on your paladin or warlock, or on a different toon. Iv noticed that when one of my toons not this one learns a mount it won’t update until I learn one on this guy because he has the highest mount count.
There is often a lag for mounts showing up. It’s been happening a while now. It’s just the way it is.
Blizzard should really do a better job with the mount count thing.
They can’t even make my character show up on the login screen with the correct transmog that she’s had for three weeks now. You’re asking a lot. lol
Weird is this a newer bug? I have been seeing this on some of my characters too.
I’ve been seeing it for a couple of months now. Clearing my cache didn’t fix it either. It’s weird.
this bug has been ongoing for a year and a half now.
this is what happened when i was trying to get the 300 achieve:
Mount totals have been an absolute mess ever since Legion, we’ve had issues with cross faction stuff counting, dozens of different class mounts from class halls having an accumulative impact on your collection and other buggy crap going on, they don’t seem to be too interested in any sort of consistency with totals, same goes for up to date collecting achievements.
i haven’t seen any of those issues.
the number which shows in your collection tab, is different to what goes on with your achievement counter
Well aware, i’m talking about your count according to collecting website totals, not the silly in game mount tab one. You haven’t noticed a massive difference between the totals of people who went to the trouble of making one of each class to do the class hall stuff and the people like me that just have one character? I think it’s like a 30+ mount difference.
no, i haven’t noticed that… mounts only count if a character can use them.
it doesn’t matter how many class hall mounts you have, only the ones which your “highest mount count” character can use, count towards the total.
my paladin has the highest mount count.
my mage mounts don’t count towards the paladins tally
During Legion, heaps of people were leveling alts and doing each spec’s class hall stuff and having it all contribute to their mount totals, heaps of people were getting collecting achievements that they were nowhere near getting otherwise.
In all fairness i quit collecting when all of that nonsense happened so perhaps it’s all sorted? I honestly don’t know, i’m still a ridiculous amount of mounts beyond the highest current achievement anyway so my care factor is pretty low.
While the actual in-game count can be wonky sometimes, the game is usually pretty good at actually awarding the collection achievement mounts when you hit the appropriate counts.
The only problem there is that with all the faction, pvp, class, and now probably covenant mounts, there’s alot of leeway in what does and doesn’t count towards the counter.
Personally, I think with all the inconsistent acquisition methods, all mounts (except for maybe mounts with specific horde-alliance varients, like the mecha chopper) should count towards the collection achievement.
As it stands right now, back when I was trying to get the last collection achievements, I kept having to log over to my paladin or something, since, technically, he has more mounts then any other of my characters.
It’s just very messy right now.
ok, i hadn’t heard about that.
maybe it’s a good thing.
i would have sent myself crazy trying to collect them all
that would be nice.
if i want my count to be the highest it could possibly be, i need to make one of my paladins an engineer/tailor
The old me absolutely would have, once upon a time i went balls to the wall to try and get every mount possible, i was the No.1 collector for all Aussie servers and maybe 8th in the world but that fluctuated a lot. Now all of this stuff happens and in order to be a serious collector you need to be willing to make a bunch of alts for class mounts, covenant mounts while also putting up millions upon millions of gold for other stuff.
I think i left the collecting scene at just the right time
What’s with that? I am noticing it on several of my alts and I when I log into them most of the time it is fine but every so often it is altered.
