Mount collection

Prior to yesterday my mount collection stood at 297. During that day I received the Kul Tiran horse and the two mounts for having completed the Allied race achievement on both factions. Yet today the count still stands at 297.

Are these mounts somehow exempt from the mount count?

The achievement only counts useable mounts so the mount from the opposite faction wouldnt help. Did you check on the same toon that you saw the 297 on since it is character specific? And did you check the actual achievement for your count instead of the mount journal since I believe that counts mounts from both factions?

Do you have a Paladin? Their five mounts count but wouldn’t count if you view the achievement with your hunter.

Were you viewing the same character? Characters with profession mounts that are not usable by your other characters will have a higher count. Example, I had to log on to my paladin, my only engineer, to register my 300 and 350 mounts because of the eng-only + paladin only mounts.

Do you have a paladin who got all the class mounts (from vanilla to Legion)? Their count is always higher than all my other characters. Check the count on paladin or warlock.

OK, thanks for that, I logged onto the Paladin and it did indeed go up to 299.

Yay!

There are some faction specific things but mounts tend to equalize. So the different classes and professions are the only unique-y things when counting mounts.

Think I’m at 5 more to go til 350. No rush tho - 8.2 should bring some new mounts so I can wait.

I peeked through your mount collection. Go clear AQ for the zone-only mounts-

A lot of people probably don’t think about them or know that they count towards the mount collections achievement. It’s been so long since I got them I had to search on google to double check for sure.

ya i havent been in AQ in 4ever myself, i remember i was farming it all the time for the rep thingys, then blizz changed something and i got mad, hmm i wonder if i ever finished the armor set… lol

I’m slowly getting there - currently at 279 / 300

Been trying to get Dragon Soul and Firelands mounts for a long time, and only within the last year got Onyxia, Ashes of Alar, and Baron Rivendares.

Good suggestion, on the Ahnquieriririi(SP) bugs. I forgot all about them, while you get them so fast.

This helped me a lot:

Then you put in your character/server, then go collections, mounts, and can click on

“show planner.”

It helps a lot, but recently is dated:

It has the great suggestion of having your hearth at the Panda Shrine of Portals, but of course now you would not.

Many I would have never thought of, like:

Run Vault of Archavon
Koralon Grand Black War Mammoth
(any of the giant dudes there can drop it, your side has to have Wintergrasp or someone had to bust a hole through the wall so you can zone in to the instance.)

Happily I finished doing the Zandalari questline and when I next logged onto my Alliance Paladin I’d hit 301 mounts, so I got the achieve!

I’m not sure why you couldnt see the Qiraji mounts on my armory but I definitely have them on the mount list. However, thanks for the suggestion, I’d have been annoyed if I hadn’t thought of them :heart:
