Mount Collection Bloat

Anyone feel like there is too many world stuff to kill for mounts in a daily schedule. Feels like they should slash the amount of creatures that can drop mounts by half and put the removed mounts that drop to those remaining half or maybe get them in alternative way like a scrapper. Doing BFA content has a chance to drop some item, then you put them in a mount scrapper and it has a chance to drop BFA mounts and maybe those removed mounts from WOTLK,Cata,Mop etc.

Now that you mention it, no.

Just like there aren’t too many pets to collect, or too many tabards to gather, or too many of much anything else.

The only thing there isn’t too many of is my DPS, but I’m slowly working on that.

They are all optional collections. It is fine the way it is now.

ya it’s only maybe a bit overwhelming off the bat OP
after 10+ years of playing you get most of it, then it’s not so bad

I am an avid mount collector, though I will admit I never use even a 3rd of my mounts as both my mounts and battle pets have to match my transmog theme of the day,( week, hour, month).
But no I feel there is just enough mounts and pets out there to collect from world drops to keep me engaged in game play when raiding gets stale.

I usually farm only 2 or 3 that I really want and ignore the existance of every other mount.

I think there are too many players in this game, can we just scrap some of them too.

I am an avid mount collector, just not a gold sink collector. So I havent grabbed any of the BfA vendor ones as they are all WAY over priced, especially the rep ones that you have to “earn” the right to buy in the first place.

I would never have made mounts a collection thing to begin with; I think it’s more fun to have a smaller number and make it challenging to get the one you really want. But that horse left the stables donkey’s years ago.

I feel fortunate that mounts are not one of the things I have a desire to collect (I do toys only). I can imagine the daily / weekly chores could get overwhelming, since you can always create yet another alt to increase your chances.

I get that it may seem overwhelming. But as you gain some of those legacy mounts and things, it’s one less thing you have to farm in the future. It’s good thing that there’s so much to collect, it can give you something to do if you ever find yourself bored with the current content. Or maybe running an old raid or going to an old zone can add a good change of environment to what you usually do.

Collections are meant to be a reflection of the time you put into the game. Over time you’ll accumulate more and more.

No.

There’s nothing that says you have to actively farm each and every mount currently available. It’s good to have options. Now excuse me, I’ve got to go fishing for the Great Sea Ray – I’m at 349 mounts that count toward the 350 mount achieve.

No, its entirely optional, if you don’t want to farm the requirements, might I suggest the cash shop  There, problem solved!!!

Mount collector here,

I would consider your point if said mounts were on a terrible spawn timer or abysmal low change drop. They aren’t. They are - for mount collecting standards - pretty farmable and easy to acquire.

The best models are still locked behind more difficult content and that is ok too. Don’t hate, and get ready for those colo changing mounts in 8.2!

Why are you worried about mount bloat when the only achievement you have is for 100? I don’t get your angle.

No way. As someone who’s 390/400 for the achieve I love having lots of mounts from a variety of sources. Very rarely do I get to every drop chance every week (especially on every toon) but It’s nice to have a variety so i can rotate and cycle to different ones when i’m getting burnt out from a particular source.

because finding all the mount drops would take all day.

The only mount bloat I’ve noticed is the alarmingly increasing number of horses. Even horde get another horse now with the two sides of a story achieve.

Finding where they all drop only takes reading a website…

nope, creating a farming route and doing the daily/weekly ones would take almost all a persons daily game time.
