These is already a way that you have this without looking at the screen. Your vigor will ding every time a bubble refills. When it stops dinging, you’re full.
The lines are and blur are superfluous and we should just say turn them off. Full screen effects also deals with things like health level flashing. That can also be deterimental to playing.
I know that. But if ppl aren’t playing with sound on that doesn’t help them. I love dragonriding. I prefer it. But it sucks for the ppl who want to like it but can’t. I believe there are legit ppl who are suffering motion sickness. I doubt however that every single complaint is legit, it’s the internet, ppl lie and jump on bandwagons to try and get what they want. So until regular flying is released there should be more ways to help those who really do get motion sickness.
My hope is that we see normal flying in a month or two. I do understand why they want people dragon riding right now, but normal flying can’t compete and won’t be affect anyone after a couple months.
We tried to go through all of the accessibility options in beta. They did pretty well in some respects, but dragon riding was always going to be an issue they couldn’t fully solve.
I have sort of found a way of dealing with things. When flying I alter my view so that I am not looking directly forward but rather off to the side or down a bit. I’m trying to make it a bit like normal flying when you would be looking for quests, gathering, and so forth. Trying to maintain a rather constant speed whenever possible is also good - keep adjusting altitude with a slight downward angle to recharge vigor. The race dailies are annoying though. The fact that your POV resets with every ring and the yo-yo action of speeding up/slowing down at times can be bothersome.
Many, many years ago I had problems with the flying sky golem. It took a week or two to get used to it. Nowadays I don’t get affected at all by weird flying mounts and that includes the dragons.
I do get motion sickness in games mostly due to low fov settings or something like in witcher 3 with the “witching senses” aka nausea senses. That one really triggers me for some reason.
Well, best of luck to everyone with the whole (Motion Sickness) and I hope something gets done to help. At some point regular flying will make its return, I can’t remember how long it took before flying was allowed in Shadowlands.
As stated above that isn’t really a solution because it affects a lot of the game and some of those visual affects are needed. There is no toggle to turn them off while Dragonriding only. There is no way to macro it as far as I am aware. And no addons to remove the dragonriding visuals.
So what you’re suggesting is that I going into the interface, turn these off, dragon ride to my destination, go back into the interface, turn it back on, do what I need to do and then repeat it when I want to travel.
Or I can just press F3 on my keyboard and transform into travel form and run to my next destination. This option is much preferable.
Some world quests require dragon riding and the offensive dungeon even though there’s a flight master between each point, requires it in order to get to some ad packs faster.
I turned on “Alternate Full Screen Effects” and the blue lines and circles coming off the dragon are still there. Those are the main distraction and disorientating effect.
I never did any dungeons so I don’t know about them . But the main campaign does not really need dragonriding except that one quest where you fly in a straight line pretty much
I just have to point out than when people wanted flying mounts in previous expansions, we were told that the game is better from the ground. You get to explore, engage with new people, see the beautiful artwork etc…
Now, when people want flying mounts for various reasons we’re told that it is better to go at supersonic speeds and never interact with the world around us or are called bots. Even people with legitimate health reasons.
