This is a pesudo-PSA for those who have not received their pet after collecting all of the orbs required. It appears that other people are still having the problem as well.
Xinterp–
I have just completed gathering all 16 golden orbs, but was not awarded the pet.
When running the script “/run for i=76178,76193 do print(i,CQuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(i))end” to see if I have all of the ID’s marked as true, it spits out all of the ID’s as true, but I do not have the pet.

I understand that you are facing a challenge where you didn’t receive the pet after collecting the 16 golden orbs.
Well, I have some news for you! I’ve actually received multiple reports such as yours, so, definitely, there appears to be something wrong, or not working as intended.
I want to assure you that it’s on our radar right now, and we’re working on it. 
One more thing! We are already tracking this, but we would truly appreciate you taking a minute or two to submit a bug report through the in-game channel, or through our WoW community forums with more details and let me show you how:
• First way is : Using the in-game “Submit Feedback” option that is found on the Help menu.
1- Press the Esc key to open the Game Menu, and click Support.
2- Click Submit feedback or bug report.
3- Click Submit a suggestion.
4- Follow the guidelines on the submission form, and enter your suggestion.
Click Submit.
