ok i guess I’m just going to directly grab the 31st point in a lot of talent trees. since its all classless I will be an energy user that heals and tanks… wait this is sounding like bfa.
Probably gonna have to stick to mana.
warriors can beat them, especially if undead
Yep. All 3 talent tree’s are good for rogue.
Assassination has seal fate.
Combat is the dominant pve tree.
Subtlety has hemo and is a pvp beast.
No one has said shadow priest? I mean literally takes the class to a different play style and is the 1v1 god class.
Okay, so we got one class that can beat demonology warlocks!
Vanilla/Classic Demonogy has its turkey talents (Improved Firestone, anyone?), but you can get to the 31-point talent without taking any of them. It offers great situational flexibility, since Demonic Sacrifice and Master Demologist give you any one of 8 different buffs based on which demon you sacrifice or have out, and you can switch nearly instantly if need be. Really good for both PVE and PVP.
And you still have 20 points for either Affliction or Destruction. If you forgo Soul Link you can get Ruin, which is pretty powerful.
Another vote for frost mage. It’s good for leveling, farming, early raiding, and PvP.
There are other trees that are more powerful for certain aspects of the game, like BM hunter for leveling, shadow priests for PvP and prot warriors for raiding, but they can’t match frost’s versatility.
Shadow Priest is a great model for how to provide spec differentiation within a class.
Guild Wars 2 took a similar approach with elite specs that I really enjoyed.
they are strong for sure, but the game isnt really about duels
locks are good for bgs too, but pretty much every class has at least one good spec for those
Bro this exists! It is called Project Ascension and it is pretty fun. It is the vanilla world but WotLK talents and mechanics.
You want a 2h sinister strike, WF, MS build with adrenaline rush, death wish, HoJ and wind shear? You got it!
They also have a wildcard mode where you start with 4 random abilities (that you can re-roll at lvl 1) and after 10 you get a random ability every 2 levels.
id say frost is as good or better than BM for leveling. mages are better 1-10, then hunters are probably the best in the game from like 10-30
after that a good mage can beat them. mages are more susceptible to crowded servers slowing them down though, while hunters have to take time and deal with pet stuff
Correct, ya, that’s what I should have said. You can avoid the worthless talents all the way to 31.
A better question is, “which class has the most NUMBER of good talent trees?”
The answer is warrior. Arms, fury, and prot, are all best in game at their roles. Furthermore, the 31p abilities for warrior are all good. Other classes have at least 1 garbage skill at the bottom of a page. (derp pact, derp well, derp sting, etc) With Warlock, all 3 of them are bad. You don’t even want to go to the bottom of a page… ever. Every build uses 2x 21s, because the 21s are better than the 31s.
An ability that averages 800 damage isn’t going to one-shot anything at level 60 with 1 button press.
I didn’t say soul fire hit like pyro. It takes set up. Shadow bolt crit, curse, fear to prevent interrupt…a lot more than just walking up to someone, clicking a button, and they eat dirt 4 seconds later.
So what IS your point?
Soul Link and Conflag are both good pvp builds.
Your overall point is correct though in that Warriors have the strongest talents trees and all of the 31 pointers are great.
Not only are you missing the point on purpose, you’re also completely clueless.
Wrong forum mate.
OMG lol, I got baited. Ok now I just have to start a thread to add monk to classic and how everyone who disagrees with me is wrong.
This thread is about talent trees, soul fire isn’t a talent tree.
