Most of the changes on that WoWhead list do not seem “Woke”.
If it’s Woke, it’s either creating something fake or it’s taking something from the past and vandalizing it.
That Wowhead list seem to be getting rid of self-serving inside jokes employees interjected into the game, memes or references that are irrelevant, or otherwise.
So we lose a couple of emotes and a greenskin reference from Trollbane. Is that irritating to you?
You know what else is irritating? How about the limited 2 or 3 dark skin options we had in the old human models until the WoD update, and then they even got rid of those. People who played certain characters from Classic through WoD had their appearances changed entirely. Only light or fair features were available for humans for the next 3 expansions. Someone at Blizzard went out of their way to get rid of customization options for any human who didn’t look European, but what got all the attention? Trollbane Greenskin reference and /spit. Why don’t some of you put all this energy into demanding that Blizz never again do something as stupid as that BC Classic Boost Mount.
Woke, Left Wing, or Liberal attitudes usually only break or vandalize, but some of these changes lately actually pay more respect to the World of Warcraft as a living world with it’s own story and lore. This is a clean-up, not a vandalization. Don’t get it twisted, and act as if removing references to dick jokes is the same as some of the other nonsense in mainstream culture.
