Most Needed Endgame Classes

Hey all, coming back to classic - I played at launch for a couple months but became too busy to play for a while.

My questions are:

  1. What classes are currently most needed/recruited in the endgame? (dungeons/raiding)
  2. What classes don’t require excessive farming at max level? (I understand grinding for gear/enchants/epic mount, but I can’t spend more than a couple hours each week just to have the consumables I need to raid)

Thanks!

Healers and Warlocks are probably your game if you want to avoid the majority of consumes and still be in high demand. There is already way to many mages.

I’ve seen a lot of horde guilds recruiting resto shamans. I’m currently leveling one myself and its been a lot of fun so far.

Healers and warlocks alliance side. Sometimes hunters and druids.

Alliance don’t play warlock much because in pvp half the horde is fear immune.

Holy paladins, like #1 way to just get a ginvite is be one of them.

Hunters aren’t exactly in extreme demand but I feel like I contribute a lot even if I don’t have consumes/World buffs and hunters literally have no flasks that help their DPS.

I’d honestly prefer to have more druids.

Paladins are always in hot demand. Holy, that is.

Holy paladin or Dwarf Disc Priest with PI. Either one of those and youll always be able to get into a raid/guild. Pally is easier to farm max lvl for gold than priest.

Fury warriors with gear as well. I still see hardcore guilds recruiting more melee DPS for speed runs if you’re into that sorta thing. But it’s a huge timesink

Fury warriors are great to have but getting them gear is a huge pain. Plus with AQ coming out soon ranged dps is gonna start being really good. Geared fire mages will make AQ40 substantially easier.

If you are playing Horde. Healing priests and resto shamans and resto druids.

In BGs i am usually the only healing shaman and sometimes the only healer.

Horde don’t like healers for some reason, generally speaking.

Fury warriors.
Even having 8 will be alright due to 4HM.

It depends on what you mean by end-game I guess.

If you want to do dungeons, be a tank. Feral druid or any warrior will do. Prot paladins are niche and will struggle with certain end-game mechanics (like threat drop and silence).

If you want to raid, I think healers in demand. My guild, on Pagle, is apparently hurting for Holy Paladins.

If you don’t want to worry about a lot of farming, either a tank or a healer is probably fine. The current meta for raid DPS seems to be obsessing over parses. You by no means need to do that, but it’s quite likely that whatever group you decide to play with might ignorantly give you the gears if you don’t get all the world buffs and consumables needed to push your numbers to pointlessly high values
