What do y’all think the most needed classes based on current polls, guild needs, viability, forum posts, etc.
Based on what I’m seeing priests, shamans, mages, and warrior tanks are everywhere and in low demand.
Druid, pally, and surprisingly rogues seem to be in high demand. Is a rogue shortage a possibility?
Just wondering what y’all are seeing?
keep in mind that forums/reddit activity is not representative of the playerbase. with how powerful rogues are in PVE and PVP i doubt there will be a shortage of people playing them. druids and paladins, maybe; considering they’re two of the most boring classes to play (druids at least get to use healing touch during early tiers, while paladins are mostly buffing people and keeping the judgement debuff)

HAHAHAHAHAAHA no.
Seriously though, just having people playing a class doesn’t mean any of them are playing it well. Of the thousands of people assuming they’re going to be their guild’s main raid warrior tank, only a tiny percent will actually fill that role.
What’s needed in Classic is what’s always been needed, and will always be needed: people who take the time to learn their class’s strengths and weaknesses, and how to work together with the group/raid to achieve success. Do that, and regardless of what class or role you play, you WILL be wanted.

It will always be tanks on the super short list and healers on the short list.
DPS…well, who cares about them? Any noob can do that.

It’s really more a question of roles than classes in demand. Holy Paladin will be in greater demand than Ret Paladin for example.

Hope y’all are right! I’m with the many other people who keep swapping what class to play and really just want to be needed (for example rolling holy priest and never finding a group). As I plan on dedicating myself to that class for the long haul!
If you play holy pally you will be wanted lol

You will often see requests for ranged DPS. This takes pressure off healers because of AoE damage from mobs / bosses.

Well from playing classic the first time, Leveling a character to 60 is one thing… Sticking to the class at 60 and developing their gear is a complete different ball park…
Tanks for 5/10 mans
Healers for raids
Pretty much always been that way.
I think you will see less demand for tanks in the beginning though
Resto Shaman.
Warriors willing to tank.
Healer Priest willing to go Shadow Weaving spec.
I remember Rogues were one of the most played classes in 2004, then they became the least played class in ~2010(?). So coming back to classic 2019, are we bringing the 2019 playerbase culture or the 2004 gameplay?
Alliance tends to not have too many Warlocks (WotF stigma), so as far as DPS classes go it’s probably up there in terms of demand. I think Horde has plenty, though.
healer cause u might enjoy some idiot leading poorly blames the healer. and listening to dominating in real time.
but that is all after. nothing makes you laugh more than ppl complaining and arguing during a fight.
most needed? priests and warriors. you can literally comprise groups of only priests and warriors.

I need dual-wield Warrior Fury DPS badly for my 40m core team. After that, just a warlock and hunter - which were pretty hard to recruit as well.
