Most needed classes for raids

Curious what classes are the most sought after for Mythic RAIDS right now…Like what would be top 3?

mage

Any healers or tanks needed… or other DPS classes?

Brewmaster tanks for their utility, survivability. They don’t typically want to bring MW or WW as they’re the weakest of their respective roles so a Brewmaster would bring the 5% debuff.

As for healer, Holy Paladin for their superior HPS and great group wide damage reduction, they’re significantly more wanted, many guilds would prefer to class stack holy paladins than diversify the healing roster at the moment.

Ranged DPS with immunities.

This is it, right here. Mages & Hunters.

You can also include melee with immunities, so Ret Paladins, Rogues, Demon Hunters.

There’s a glut of healers and tanks in the game. Everybody is trying to recruit more DPS. Especially ranged DPS. It’s been this way for years.

That’s surprising. I always thought healers were highly sought after. Ranged DPS huh?

Not much demand for melee DPS for high end raiding?

In Shadowlands the classes that can provide heroism.

What have you been smoking ? Monk tank? They’re like the worst they’ve ever been in M+ and raid. I even have first hand experience considering my cotank is a monk. We’re equally geared but I have 200K more hp and have 1.5 more dmg and way more survivability. Look at WarcraftLogs before you suggest bad specs to ppl

I invite all gnomes with sufficient ilvl or experience. Those cuties are the best and we all know it!

Too many healers. Decent amount of tanks. Too many melee DPS. Not enough quality range dps players

For being the worst spec for raids…they sure are the most brought by a landslide.

Did you look at anything else in the link? Quality > quantity
Most brought
Yet also the most garbage

Ah so everyone is just an idiot for not rolling Guardian Druid then? The fact of the matter is Brewmaster brings a lot more useful utility to a lot of bosses compared to the rest of the roster. RoP is incredibly useful on N’Zoth for the psychophages for example and you aren’t a glorified wheelchair for moving Psychus around either.

Damage as a tank in raid is a 100% useless metric especially this late in the game where dps are doing like 25%+ more dps than they were doing when N’Zoth was first killed.

Damage as a tank is 100% useless? Yeah ok buddy lmao

Tank damage here is who scales better for Twilight Devastation literally, monks are typically used for progression raiding for their strong survivability from stagger, making more predictable damage healers can track for starters that and living through serious punishing damage that would kill other tanks. Not to mention the high kite mobility and ring for adds.

Monks will always be a strong choice of a tank.

Really hoping this changes in Shadowlands.

Alright let us take a typical raid comp for N’Zoth of 2/4/14. Each dps does about 85k. Two Blood DKs would do 57k. And then the healers would do like 15k each or something. That brings our total raid dps to 1,364,000 dps. Let us switch out BOTH blood dks for 2 brewmasters. 8k dps loss for each (57k to 49k) means our total raid dps goes down to 1,348,000.

1.2% total damage. That’s it. That is how insignificant of a change swapping from the tank that does the second most damage to the one that does the least by far does. Again, tank damage is a meaningless statistic when there are literally 14 people in the group that almost double you in damage.

In M+ tank damage absolutely means something because there are only 3 dps and you make up an actual meaningful amount of the groups damage, but in raid you can equip all versatiles if you want and it won’t impact the boss’s health nearly as much. The ONLY time tank dps in raid kind of matters is early in the pull where one tank gets like 900 TDev procs and randomly rips threat off the other tank, but that is fairly easy to salvage by…just hitting your taunt button.

In Mythic raiding (which is what this thread is about), Brewmasters outnumbered all other tanks combined for most of the expansion. They’re simply that much better than all other tanks.

That being said, no raid team is recruiting for tanks. The most in demand roles are ranged DPS with immunities, as has been said.

Not…sure what you are talking about.
Brewmaster is easily the best tank in the game, and will be the best tank in thenext expansion as well.
