Most mounts added from the last 2 expansions look very out of place in most of Azeroth

The last couple expansions have added almost exclusively bizzaro-world looking mounts. Shadowlands had those idol hands things, covenant stuff like the Revendreth gargons, the prototype looking things from Zereth Mortis, and so on.

Now in Dragonflight we get ottuks, bruffalons, armoredons, dreamtalons, and so on. A bunch of things that look like they’re from another planet like Draenor.

I’d like more high res mounts that wouldn’t look so out of place in almost the entirety of the game. The mount I use the most is Blackpaw from BfA. It’s just a plain black bear. And to the best of my knowledge the only ordinary looking high res bear mount in the game. There are a lot of bears in Azure Span and yet they didn’t add a single new bear mount. They’d rather add 10 different colors of Ottuks.

They actually did add an azure span bear mount but it’s from a blizzcon special edition ticket. :expressionless: I think last year

Yeah that’s not exactly what I’m looking for. With regard to bears, they don’t have a single brown or polar bear that uses the new bear model from Legion. Yet they add 10 different variations of ottuks, dreamtalons, snails, and every other weird thing they come up with.

Legion for example added different variations of elderhorns that look at home in practically all of Azeroth. They added hippogryphs, storm drakes, spiders, and foxes. Not just fel stuff from Argus. BfA added tons of mounts that fit WoW’s overall aesthetic. And for some reason they have completely deviated from this the last 2 expansions. I honestly don’t feel like collecting any of the new mounts. They all just look strange. Almost like they belong in a different game.

Yeah I think it’s to match the theme of the expansions they’ve done is all. They usually do that. Ottuks and the mammoth mounts we got are pretty much the normal animal mounts this round. Shadowlands was soooo far weird out there thematically. I do like the Ardenweald mounts though. Big Moths have been a part of wow for a long time.

I just remember WoD and how boring I felt the majority of the mounts were there because they were simply just animals. Haha I like some of the weird ones.

Like that hand. Looks cool. Tbh you can create a theme for your character that fits into wow using that mount.

Sure they do.

Pretty sure these have been around since Wrath.

That’s a black bear. I mentioned I use it more than any other mount in my 1st post.

And actually it appears Ottuks debuted in Dragonflight. There didn’t appear to be any in Northrend.

To be fair, that really is the only plain bear mount for some reason. Other ones tend to be low res or have weird armors.

I never noticed because I hate bears personally.

I’m surprised we don’t have a diseased bear with eggs on its butt Mount.

That was relegated to druids.

My bad! Sorry I missed that. :slightly_smiling_face:

The closest to a bear would probably be the gargon mounts from revendreth or the weird things from korthia. They use the newer bear animations and rigging. There’s also the owl bear from the preorder.
