Behind Beastmaster of course.
I guess MM hunter? You only have one spell that you need to be standing still to use if I am not mistaken.
Mages are also pretty mobile once you get the hang of Shimmer.
MMHunter.
Ranged movement is mostly the number of instant casts a player can fill. So, possibly Moonkin after that, maybe Fire/Frost mage though.
MMHunter.
Aff Lock can do a decent amount on the move, especially with tier set. Most of your spells are instant cast DoTs, your tier makes your filler instant + extends DoTs.
Balance Druid. Again, DoTs + instant cast Starsurge spam, coupled with that talent that lets you cast and move during Starfall.
Mage is unique where all 3 specs have an element of mobility. Arcane has mobility that melee players hate. Frost Mage has frequent but brief ârun & gunâ moments with instant Ice Lances. Fire can do their burst rotation on the move.
I thought Arcane was the turret spec?
Gotta be standing still for Aimed Shot, and thatâs like 80% of the rotation.
Hunters obviously. If you mean casters then it could be Fire Mage or Shadow Priest.
Frost Mage seems like itâs the least mobile and in some cases it is, but if youâre in Frozen Orb territory you can shuffle around quite a bit without DPS loss. Ice Lance will be 40-50% of your damage so all of those casts are instant.
However, most Mages will use Rune of Power, which even though you can be near it and not on it, may cause you to lose your DPS CD completely if a big ability is targeted at your location. So thatâs a big caveat. 2 blinks can save you here but itâs dicey sometimes.
Moonkin relies on casts and procs based on those casts, like Mages, so I wouldnât consider that excellent mobility either, especially without blink.
Iâm gonna give the edge to Shimmer Mages: Beinâ able to move while hardcastinâ is a pretty big deals. Imagines if you coulds teleport while âcastingâ Aimed Shots. Frost Mages also has a Talent to allows them to move while castinâ, too.
Shimmer and Icy Floes are on the same row so they canât both be used.
Itâs trues! I was just sayinâ one or the othah, although I consider Shimmer more mobiles in generals.
Kinda.
During burn windows yes arcane is very much a turret.
But outside of that when youâre just spamming missles you have decent mobility. Most arcane mages run the talent that lets you move while channeling if you have a clearcasting proc, so it is a bit random due to procs but the mobility isnât terrible.
Overall less mobile than frost or fire tho.
Mages can Shimmer cast. If a mage drops Rune of Power before prolonged movement, thatâs a mistake. Thereâs are some talents to help overall, and probably more impactful that something like SWG. And timing on spells like being able to spam Ice Lance for a bit help.
Moonkin has like 5 GCDs they can reliably fill for movement at any point. If not for Hunter, itâd probably be the most mobile. You can toss in Stellar Drift for good measure. It depends when the movement happens in your rotation, but most movement can be planned.
Shimmer or Slipstream (you have to choose between them) are really powerful tools for repositioning without interrupting your rotation.
In PVP you can shimmer around to annoy melee players + Arcane Explosion is your go-to filler when youâre being focused anyways, and thatâs instant.
The icey flows is on the same talent tree as shimmer, one or other but not both.
And also blink/shimmer can malfunction sometimes if there is an ant on the ground, let alone a rock.
A fire mage in Scortch execute range is very mobile.
oh god I hate this so much
You try to blink out of a mechanic but thereâs a stray pixel on the ground so it goes on cd but does nothing so you just die
kinda ridiculous that a game thatâs been out for nearly 20 years is still having problems like this tbh
Agree with others saying MM. Mage fire can technically move but your output drops through the floor for it unless youâre lucky with a chain of pyro procs⊠scorch spam isnât great damage. Shimmer helps but itâs ultimately just a minor bump in DPS in PvE, and in PvP Shimmer trades away Blinkâs CC removal which hurts.
Maybe a DoT heavy class could count as mobile, since a lot of their casts are instant and DoTs continue ticking while you move? I dunno, I havenât seriously played spriest or any flavor of warlock in a long time.
Yea, I would have said the same thing in theory about rune of power. Problem is the real world, some abilities are random, or would require you to hold it wayyyy too long before using it again, or before the boss dies. Like at the end of NW you arenât going to cast it right before comet storm, but between comet storm, the player getting grabbed into that hallway thing, and the AOE freeze, you canât always be as perfect with it as you want.
You may gamble on not being the player picked and teleported over casting it near comet storm, or wiping the group by staying in the AOE freeze thing. But even so, you can still move, but the DPS loss might cause some to stand there. RoP creates more decisions around stuff like that than if it didnât exist.
It can be rendered moot by a random latency spike too. Iâve had times when Iâm running along in WSG or something and blink, only to be hit by a latency spike which results in Blink moving backwards.
It would be nice if there were a glyph that would make Blink/Shimmer act like Charge or Heroic Leap and give a âpath not foundâ error when it isnât going to go the full distance instead of burning a cooldown.
Most players stand in the middle of their Rune (or Dreamweaver circle). I wish more players would realize you need to plant your feet on edge so you can run across the effect. Most AOE effects are small enough where you still maintain uptime despite being picked.
Hell it shouldnât even be a glyph, it should just work like that baseline.
It is really annoying that it burns the cd when it bugs out
