I’d say the Warrior tier 3 set is very iconic…
those shoulders give you +1 to intimidation!
It looks better on Nelves, I think. Maybe that’s why.

The betrayer regalia & elemental triad (mage & lock cm sets) are still THE best looking cloth sets ingame still.
Still waiting for mage to get an iconic one honestly. Never liked a single tier set especially since it took them nearly 19 years to stop giving us the tube skirts.
T2 was much better for priests, imo. I loved the look of that set. The colors and the headpiece
Hard to say for hunters. Torn between T4 (more the black pvp version) and the green armor set from Legion Nighthold/Nightmare.
Ive got all the sets from T1 through WoD and those are my favorites.
Priest t6 / the t6 remake from Tomb was the most iconic priest set in my opinion. I know some people might argue transcendence or devout, but absolution will always be more iconic in my mind.
T8.5 for Warlock, hands-down.

Challenge mode sets are iconic to me, however barring those:
T6 for warriors
T1 for druids
T2 for pallies and rogues
T8 for lock and shaman
T5 for priest
T7 for dk
Garrison cloth set for mages
The ToT non-tier for Monks
Glaives for DHs
And the nancydragons need not apply.
My vote goes to Merciless Gladiator. Specifically.
I would love the Paladin MoP armor. The Legion remake isnt bad, but I want those shoulder wings.

hunter otoh… i don’t think there’s a single hunter tier set in the entire history of the game i’ve ever liked lmao. maybe one day.
The Nighthold one is generally pretty well liked. One of the few that doesn’t have animal heads on it lol
I may be in the minority but I actually think their current tier (Aberrus) is pretty good. It’s nice and simple.
A lot of people are going to call out early, basic sets just because they were the first sets people ever saw. When I saw the rogue tier 2 I thought ‘perfect!’. Now? It’s a basic leather set with a hood. A bunch of them are a bit like that.
I’d say the absolute classics are:
- Death Knight - Tier 19 from Nighthold. There are other more famous ones but this is easily the coolest, especially at mythic level.
- Demon Hunter - Tier 20 by a mile. Mythic is wearing the appropriate skirt and dripping with fel energy and spikes.
- Druid - Tier 6. Tier 5 and Tier 8 are close.
- Envoker - Too new to have one.
- Hunter - Eh, honestly tough choice. I guess tier 1? Maybe?
- Mage - Tier 3 (especially if you like frost)
- Monk - Eh, they don’t really have one. Going to say Tier 16 from Seige as its my favourite. All have lots of balls.
- Paladin - Tier 2. No contest.
- Priest - Mythic Tier 21from Antorus - As holy as holy has ever been
- Rogue - Ive got nothing. Almost all your sets are generic garbage. Tier 20 at a push.
- Shaman - Bit of a tough one. Tier 5 is the most famous, but looks way too metallic and spikey for a nature worshiper. 'm going to go for Tier 13 from Dragon Soul which has great honking skull shoulders and is generally awesome.
- Warlock - Tier 5. Almost as iconic as the Paladin tier 2
- Warrior - Tier 6. Nothing but spikes.

Weirdly, I think the rogue class order hall set is the best one they’ve had.

For warriors, I found the Onslaught set immediately iconic back in TBC. And the recreation in Legion is damn near perfect.
