Most hated dungeon?

What is the dungeon you dread the most? What dungeon do you zone into and consider dropping and eating the debuff?

For me its easily gnomeregan. I see plentu of hunters, warlocks, and frost mages pull with pet aggro and beyond that the dungeon itself is a drag.

Any of the wave-style dungeons. Violet Hold, Black Morass, Siege of Niuzao (second boss), that kind of thing. Durnholde too. I’d blacklist all of them if I could.

Culling of Stratholme is the worst of them. Instant leave if that loading screen pops up.

Old Hillsbrad Foothills.

Thrall can go free himself.

Gnomer. No explanation needed.

For me it’s Hogger’s Stockade. Its so cramped in there I can never see ahead of me. Not great for my claustrophobia either😝

Blackfathoms Deep (?) I think it is: the one where at the beginning you have to jump on those ledged blocks to get to the other side. I never am able to make those jumps right and always-always!-fall into the water :rage: Its never worth it going through that one!

Anything I have to wait for or the ones that change your character appearance.

Those that come to mind

  • Calling of strat.
  • Durnhold Keep.
  • Violet Hold
  • Well of eternity

Then there were the dungeons that at the time sucked as they were not tuned well for casual players. A list would be look something like:

  • Cata dungeons on release.
  • Halls of reflection.
  • Zul’aman and Zul’gurub

The one where you need to clear 18 waves of mobs. Dark Portal? I think it’s what its called.

I see gnomer a lot and assume it’s because players choose to go the long way, or do a full clear. But if you’re only focused on just finishing it fast, gnomer is one of the easiest/fastest dungeons you can run.

Like others have said, the timed mob wave dungeons are the worst. Kinda funny though, its the only ones where the DPS cant overpull on the Tank which was great when I was learning the spec.

Grim Batol used to irk me in Timewalking cause mechanics are hard but Magister’s Terrace quickly replaced it.

Historically: Black Morass or any other wave dungeon.

BFA: Tol Dagor, particularly on a “trash” affix week.

All the wave dungeons, I don’t really like any of the BfA dungeons except for Atal, Gnomer, old WC.

Gnomeregon, I would rather have a root canal with no anesthesia than run that place.

  • Stratholme due to waves and RP

  • Durnholde due to RP and large traveling times with no action

  • Violet Hold/Black Morass - due to waves

  • all BFA dungeons (especially UR, Temple, SotS) due to mob layout/density, dungeon flow and design all based around M+ affixes

  • Vault of Wardens/Gnomer/Dire Maul due to just overall dungeon design and mechanics

Tol dagor and siege of Boralus, I dont know the way, specially in TD, lots of mobs and annoying camera angles.

Gnomer by far. The gnomes don’t need their city anyways. Besides. No matter how many times it’s cleared or how many expansions go by, blizz will never give it back to them.

Tol Dagor
all the knockbacks and nathanos.
Any of the ones that are like a damn maze.
CoS
undead, disease, undead
yeah, I get it. Undead.
Diremaul. Maze. Demons. /cringe
SoS. Endless wind spells, endless references to sailing, sea, wind, sea, sailing, ships, sailing
I get it. Sailing.

I hate Gnomer but not as much as Maraudon. I think in Classic people are going to get a new appreciation for how awful that dungeon is.

Blackfathoms Deep, Wailing Caverns , both sides of Maradun (sp)

For me, it’s gotta be Shrine of Storms. Yeah it’s not bad if everybody is on top of interrupts and positioning and such, but unfailingly somebody drops the ball and it all goes to crap. Few dungeons rival SoS in frustration potential.

The heroic version of this place was an absolute nightmare for my poor warrior tank back then. I normally like warrior tanking but that dungeon made me wish I’d rolled literally any other tanking class because at the time they all did better at keeping aggro on lots of mobs at once.

Also, hello fellow bleeding hollow player.

Might be a minority but I always loved that one. Just had to make sure the tank was adequately leveled and that my bags were empty so I could pick up the metric tons of vendor trash that dropped there.
