I’ve been enjoying all 3 specs of Warlock, hopped back on my old main Mage and find a couple of specs fun but it seems to be missing something. I felt more powerful as a Warlock for some reason.
I know this is subjective, but I thought I’d ask what DPS classes you enjoy with a magic-based quality the most - such as (obviously) Warlock, Mage, Priest, Shaman - and Druid - I guess that’s it?
I prefer mage. I did the same thing as you and decided on the mage. Frost has a lot of buttons and one of the more interest toolsets. Fire is also fun. Arcane seems terrible in every way.
Shadow priest. With gear, good damage, heals, CC, AoE, defenses.
I also play frost mage (pretty fun but eats a lot of healing potions) and demo warlock (good fun) and switch up specs once in a while. They’re all fun - all the classes.
Fire mage with pyroblast procs left & right is amazingly fun. However when not getting procs even I’ll admit it gets a little boring until you get enemies to 30% health for scorch criticals
Been an ele shaman main for years, and while it isn’t quite as enjoyable as it has been in some points of its life cycle, it is still a ton of fun. You can go storm ele build for big aoe numbers and overall simpler gameplay, or icefury if you want a more complex build that can pump out the single target.
You also get a lot of utility with your various totems, hex and curse dispel, earth ele, and the best pve interrupt in the game.
It’s a tough choice for me. With his pocket tank my Warlock can solo pretty much any non instanced content which is nice. But so much is AoE oriented these days and my frost Mage is really good in that area which makes things like emissaries really fast.
