Most fun raid when it was current

For me it would be ICC or TK but I was pretty bad when TK was a thing so I didn’t get to join for the sunwell push later my guild tried otherwise I bet that was also fun.
I think on both I felt more impactful as a player. On my TK run as a SP I felt useful for everyone else and that was cool. Have some mana! And on the ICC runs I cleansed stuff. It felt like I had a specific job not everyone could do.

MC, because it was my first raid and the feeling of getting 40 people together to down bosses that one shot people was amazing. In all other ways though it was pretty horrible.

ICC, due to the theme and BBEG. It had an amazing atmosphere, good music and the bosses while simple kept us challenged due to internet connections and PC hardware. Seriously frogger at patchwork was the hardest thing blizzard has ever done when you can’t see were the slimes actually are.

Nylotha: I hated the raid but will always look at it as the first time I tried mythic raiding.

I wish I played back then

definitely Throne of Thunder for me.

There were others on my mind, but this one just stood out for me.

I have yet to do a mythic raid while it is current content. Looking forward to that.

OG Kara will always have a special place in my heart, but probably because it was the first time I really got to run raids with any seriousness. I did a small bit of MC and Onyxia right at the tail end of Vanilla, but Kara was where I found my footing with a regular guild group and things began to click.

It was fun, the group was fun, I was good. Some of the fights still stick in my memory and that’s saying something for my memory lol.

It was pretty fun.

I remember getting invited to a mythic raid back in HFC then they told me that they had wiped on Gorefiend over 400 or 500 times and I was like nope not for me. When I found out people were pugging nylotha I gave it a shot and found the first several fights to be not much harder then heroic.

Most of Wrath.

I had a blast in many raids when it was current! Ulduar and ICC were pretty awesome and so was FL. I also really liked DS and SOO but I was biased as a Blood DK, solo tanking “unsoloable” bosses were fun. Solo tank + Solo heal H garrosh in 10 man felt great back then.

it’s an experience! i thought i was a pretty great player until i joined a mythic guild and realized i had to step my game up a few levels. i jumped during BRF from a guild progressing on heroic blast furnace to a guild progressing on mythic blast furnace. what an adjustment.

but i passed my trial and improved a great deal as a player, and had fun. we got CE Blackhand and I stuck around in HFC until our M Mannoroth kill. IRL got in the way (new career!) and i had to drop out during M Archimonde progression.

if you get the opportunity to raid mythic progression, go for it! it’s a whole different experience.

I know what you mean. In the original EverQuest, I was part of some 54-man Plane of Time raids. The coordination was astounding by today’s standards.

Say it out loud “I need a team of 54 members on 2003’s internet to coordinate in a highly intricate exercise that will take eleven hours and timely movements, again, on 2003’s internet, will be a key to victory throughout the marathon.”

Lolwut?

ICC was such a fun raid. Wrath classes felt great in pve.

Blackrock Foundry, Throne of Thunder, Ulduar.

The most intense for me was Zul’Aman timed runs for bear mounts PRE-Nerf when everyone cried it was too hard… (which it wasn’t)

Karazhan - it was just really well designed, it had options, it had challenge, and most of the bosses were fun to fight, and just an overall great atmosphere

Zul’Aman - same as above, and also had the added challenge of bear mount runs

I didn’t want to be eaten by a crocodile, so I decided instead of walking I would swim to Westfall …

That does not compute. Don’t want to be eaten by croc, goes in water…

You should have said in classic to start though. Have fun there is a classic general forum you can use, btw, for classic stuff. I have fun in both sometimes and am frustrated in both, so…

throne of thunder, SOO wasn’t to bad, and imagine toons were really fun in mop which made it all the better.

Probably the more memorable raids for me progression-wise was Kara and then maybe Ulduar. Getting some of the top server kills on a few of the hard modes plus getting safety dance on 25m naxx pretty early on was a pretty big deal for me, but nothing compared to the fun I had when Kara was in progression. Downing Prince for the first time was a huge achievement as the only raiding I did in vanilla was farm stuff. After wrath I didn’t really do progression style raiding until Eternal Palace.

It’s hard to choose but ICC, Siege of Orgrimmar, Blackrock Foundry and Nighthold are definitely up there.
