What is everyones opinion of elemental currently and prior iterations of it?
Playstyle wise.
Purely playstyle I think legion had the best design for both elemental and enhancement with Ascendance procs and pretty great set bonuses in antorus. Enhancement can leave a bit to be desired currently, but elemental to me is still just as interesting (I still miss my Ascendance proc).
People will likely say vanilla enhancement with windfury or things along those lines, which had their day in the sun as being RNG fun as well.
I think legion elemental was the best in terms of playstyle as well.
Elemental was cool back in Legion, but it was a nightmare with the amount of procs that thing had: legendary gloves, legendary boots, lava surge, not capping maelstrom but using it a 118 for maximun damage, it was insane. Don’t even bother playing icefury, it was just terrible adding 2 extra buttons to manage.
I’m having fun with BFA version, it’s a shame they gave flame shock back a cd, but otherwise, it flows really smooth, plus you actually feel like a master of the elements with the addition to icefury.
MoP ele was the most fun, meatball machine gun that actually did good damage and casting lightning bolt while running was nice, good healing, utility, and totems
