Most fun class to play solo out in the world?

Not necessarily the best class for doing solo content out in the world, just the one that doesn’t get boring if you’re mostly doing solo world content. I’m bored of group content in this game, and I want a character that I can just play this game with like a solo action RPG, that’s what this game mostly feels like to me now. So classes with pets and stuff get boring really quickly out in the world because it’s just like send pet in, do damage, win.

What class do you guys recommend that fits that description? What class do you have the most fun doing world content by yourself with?

Shadow Priest. Big pulls leave big piles.

I’d say either Druid or DH

Both just have incredible QoL for open world content

Have soloed the game almost exclusively since Cataclysm. Always preferred the Druid.

Does it stay fun and entertaining still, or do you still have fun as a druid out in the world?

Druid, can move anywhere, can do anything, tons of portals across the world. Druid!

For a super fun class to solo hard world stuff, monk is amazing as well.

I still have fun as a druid out in the world. I’ll never top any DPS charts but I enjoy it. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be playing the game anymore.

What do you have more fun as out in the world, balance or feral?

Not necessarily looking for ease like with a pet class, just looking for something that’s fun and doesn’t get old/boring easily doing solo world content.

Beast mastery 100%.

See that lvl 122 rare? No waiting around on people, just solo it!

Feral. I am not very fond of casters in the game. They aren’t very mobile and standing in one space for seconds to cast a spell is boring.

Your Mileage May Vary.

I’m sort of partial to hunter and warlock.

Gotcha. I find it fun though, as it has been my main spec for the past two expansions (this toon isn’t my main).

I really enjoy soloing with my shaman, druid, deathknight, warlock, and hunter.

Of those I’d say death knight gets the most visceral thrill when tearing through enemy quest mobs. Hunter (bm) is the most relaxing/easy to play. Druid has the best time getting around, especially in areas where I have flying available, but even without flying having wild charge from travel form into moonkin flapping off a cliff is a really satisfying way to get across zones. Stealth also helps get around unwanted enemies.

Warlock would be more fun if I could use a tank pet other than the voidwalker/wrathguard, but commanding a demon army is pretty cool and makes dealing with lots of quest mobs seem more believable (army vs army instead of hero vs army).

My shaman is probably the most powerful of the lot at both aoe and single target, and has a lot of good utility available for dealing with tougher situations.

I have been one shotteed or attritioned by 13k dps mobs even with healthpotions and cds to world mobs before or die in pve stunlocks frequently since squish squish 20% mythic raiding leather armor in wpve before but it’s still a very solid class but it is really fun to fel rush out of aoes and juggle a rapidly moving health bar. But when cds or eye beams are down you have to hope you can live for 28 seconds until you can eye beam again, if you take over 13k dps in 20% armor you can kite while other classes are a “Can you kill it? Yes. Stand there and dps, otherwise no, you can’t really do anything different than last time”. Mobility is fun.

That said i still see BM hunters soloing the same 13m hp mobs at 288 ilvl without any apparent cd requirements to just healing 300k hps on their pet, seeing the healer and taunting a hit spectacularly, only to see “revive pet” “mend pet 300k hps” “revive pet” “revive pet” 3 times in a fight, the hunter never being in danger or just ‘feign death’ putting it on another world tagger lol.

BM hunter easily. If this was a solo RPG, that’s all I would play.

My personal preference is Windwalker Monk, oddly enough. Retadin can be fun but the rotation for WW seems quicker and comes with a few big bursts that are very satisfying to activate. It’s fun watching enemies melt under Fists of Fury, for example. Plus, the Monk’s mastery talent encourages you to alternate as you attack for the stacking damage buff that accumulates so long as you don’t repeat the same technique twice in the combo set. They’ve got a couple stupidly useful cooldowns, too, that help with survivability and making things deader faster (which of course also helps with survivability).

Truth. My bm hunter was breezing through enemies at 340-340 ilvl in nazjatar that my 418 druid had trouble with lol.

Hunter is great for those days I just want relaxing gameplay

WoW is now Skyrim and we’re all playing stealth archers lol

Paladin. But you have to be a MHP to enjoy the class to it’s full potential.

For me, Enh Shaman. Ele is fun too but I am so massively enjoying Enhancement. I can pretty much deal with whatever comes up doing solo.

All specs are rather boring after a bit, we don’t have many play style options to choose from unfortunately. But being able to solo the content without dying a lot is fun. lol I still run into the occasional death but mostly because I botched it. Zigged when I should have zagged or hit the wrong key, or some idiot aggroed 2 powerful things and a dozen other lesser things into me. I’m not that powerful. lol BTW my ilvl on my Shaman is only 419. So… Pretty good at survival.

I have a 1 minute tank I can summon, 2 ghost wolfs to assist for a bit and some pretty powerful abilities as well as self heal.

And honestly I like throwing lightning and zapping things.
