Most effective leveling?

Quests or dungeon spam?

Or dungeon spam to 40 then quest with mount?

What advice can you give this little gnomie?

Thank you all and happy friday!

Personally I find dungeon spamming to be the quickest way. I started SM from 30 now I’m 42. It’s pretty boring, but there’s no downtime. I would say stick with questing if you wanna explore the old world and all that. But if you just want efficient leveling, dungeons. That is if you don’t mind running the same content over and over.

The most effective leveling method is the one you enjoy and don’t get burned out by lv 30 doing.

Its been a mix of questing and dungeons and flower picking for the coin, just trying to see what i can do this weekend to boost myself up as much as i can

It is simple. The most effective classic leveling is gaining experience points.

I apprechiate you.

If you don’t mind tanking your reputation gains in a big way, dungeon grinding post 30 is almost assuredly one of the most efficient methods of both XP and Gold per hour gained.

This is of course assuming you have a solid group willing to farm for hours. If you have to keep reforming, or your team isn’t clearing fast enough, or dying, that eats into that efficiency in a big way, and you may even end up losing money in repair costs, not to mention the frustration.

What I generally do is, farm a bunch of dungeons for money and XP–I pick dungeons where the loot is actually something I want (for example, as a Rogue, SM Armory runs are not terribly attractive).

Once the dungeon leveling has gotten me to the point where a lot of quests in a given zone for my level range is green, and I can easily blast through these mobs in short order, I go clear those quests to both break up the monotony, and also bank some quick cash from quest rewards (quest weapons vendor for big money post 30). This also helps balance the 0 reputation gains you get from dungeon leveling.

Bare in mind you can’t go back and do grey quests in vanilla for full rep. Reputation gains from grey quests take a permanent hit after you’ve out leveled them. To repair the damage at 60, you’re effectively forced to rely exclusively on faction turn-in quests, which will hemorrhage gold.

Just don’t get caught up on the rush to 60. As much as forum posters say mc and ony are already obsolete peolle will be running them for a long time yet. Just try to enjoy the zones and quest stories. Nothing wrong with pausing for professions or to work on some rep here and there either.

Dungeon spamming is faster but only if your group is equipped for it. A fury tank with a ret healer and 3 underleveled dps is NOT going to be faster than just solo questing.

How dare you besmirch 2h Fury tanks sir? We have Windfury bots over here in the Horde. Ergo, we have all the AoE threat management we’ll ever need.
