What the most challenging expansion for you as a healer?
All
Early Cata was pretty challenging. Mana was extremely tight, healing spells hit like wet noodles, and nobody knew the dungeons and stood in all the things.
It was exhilarating.
That and wrath were the only ones I healed. I really liked it in the begining but after 4.1 it felt just like wrath to me. Also it seemed people in the lfd tool were more understanding during that period.
I remember those days. We thought it was “opposite dungeon day” and stood in the fire, as opposed to fleeing from it. Our healer sucked… we blamed them completely.
I would say vanilla because we actually had to worry about aggro, CC, and tanks constantly pushing their CD’s at the right time. Healers had to worry about the 5-second rule. Mana would tank hard if you didn’t know how to juggle this. Most healers had to have 3 ranks of a lot of spells to juggle efficiency. A lot of players didn’t know how to gear themselves.
What people are going to learn about real Soon in Classic, Vanilla. They are going to have a hard time finding people to heal in Vanilla because not only was it 1 button, you downgraded the 1 button spell and could only cast it once every few seconds or you would go oom.
Classic by far. Oom, aggro, downranking, no aoe heals…
QFT /10char
Sartharion 3D on my shaman when the reflect drake came down, watching melee almost gib themselves in half a second.
Are we including difficulty that was a result of early undertuning? If so, maybe the first 2 weeks or so in cata as a healing priest (before the early regen buffs).
For me it was wotlk because i started healing during that time and was really bad at it.
When the group started taking aoe damage i would forget my keybinds and my hand swould shiver . i got better at it eventually though .
I’m surprised everyone is saying cata. I healed through that but I had an easier time than I did at the launch of bfa.
I can’t objectively tell which expansion has been the most challenging to heal overall, all I can say is that for me it has definitely been the later ones (Legion / BFA) mostly because it’s when I started doing challenging content.
All of them.
Because squishy tanks have existed since Beta.
Cata started the decline in my desire to heal. Pre cata I didn’t mind healing or tanking on about any class.
remember at the start of legion and all your tanks were DHs and none of them knew what they were doing? paaaaaainful
though i was smart enough to stop healing instances back in cata. actually i stopped doing anything in instances mid-to-end cata… hmm
As a druid I still have PTSD from limping around in tree form during BC.
