Most Aesthetic Race for Shaman?

I know this will probably be different person to person, but I was curious what race people played as with their Shamans. Im kinda getting sick of looking at DI, and I like KT, but ill seriously miss that Fireblood.

Ive never made a horde toon, and was thinking of leveling an Orc, and seeing how the heritage armor looked on them. That stun DR for pvp looks nice too…

Ok look, real talk here, anyone else saying anything different is wrong;

Look at those Vulpera totems.

Just look at them! Cutest little things ever!

Im not sure what you mean by ‘most aesthetic’. But if you’re asking what race fits the theme and visuals of the shaman class, then to me it would definitely be Orcs and Tauren.

Troll is best for shaman imo

If we’re talking purely for tmog reasons you can’t go wrong with orc, if you dont mind seeing 3-toed feet on 99% of tmogs you can also go Zandalari

I think if I had to order horde races for shaman in order of my most to least favorite purely in terms of appearance it would prob go:

  1. Orcs/mag’har orcs, both male and female, brown orcs have better male hairstyles but I like green orc women better, both sets of totems are kind of basic but look cool in their simplicity
  2. Zandalari, only the guys, zandalari women have enormous foreheads for some reason, and I don’t like it, totems are gold, cool enough
  3. Goblins, some tmog scale weirdly large but you can put together some really cool ones, also the totems are drills, kind of low res nowadays but still cool
  4. Troll, I think the females look better in most tmog, but again gotta see feet all the time, the totems are meh imo
  5. Tauren/HM Tauren, tmog is hard to do well
  6. Pandaren, tmog varies from “he looks really fat” to “that man is built” for the guys, tmogs are decent on the women too, but you gotta be a panda soooo…anyway totems are boring but clean
  7. Vulpera, pretty much same situation as goblin, but you are now a furry, and the tail is annoying when tmogging, the totems are cute

If we’re talking aesthetic/appearance related then that is completely subjective. However, armor tends to fit orcs better than the other Horde races.

If we’re talking about lore/thematic related then it would be orc, tauren, and troll.

Big picture lore wise, Tauren (Pref OG) and Orc (Pref Mag’har). I know I know. Green Jesus. But Fel Orcs came into existence by abandoning the elements. I know Thrall brough it back but I still think MH Orc fits better for that reason. And Taurens are THE OG Azeroth Shamans.

It is still majorly a Horde class from a lore perspective. Troll does fit well and I would put 3rd lore wise with all of the spirit (loa) and hex lore.

After that you have a bit of a gap to the next group which would start with Draenei (Nobundo), and then get into more spec specific race/lore combos. Wildhammer Dwarfs (Enhance), Rivermane HM Taurens (Resto) and TideSage Kul-Tiran (Resto).

That is about as much as I know of actual lore-wise for the class that is represented in major ways. You could certainly come-up with good back-stories for other shaman races like a Dark Iron Dwarfs (Earth Shapers?), etc.

I do think your main spec plays a major roll as well. If you main resto for example, Tauren/HM Tauren/Kul-Tiran would make more sense than Troll/Orc/Dwarf for example. If you main Enhance, Orc/Dwarf or something.

You certainly get more good-looking x-mog options on various races, but I have always gone with race > x-mog. I main resto so I play Tauren (I have considered HM Tauren at times) and use Herbalism/Alchemy as professions. I also happen to like how the cows look and I think it’s the best Shaman race (Orc second) given the history of the class and Taurens connection to it and the world of Azeroth. Just go play through the Tauren starting zone and you will be sent on a lot of Shaman/Spirit related quests/story + Totems being the official markers/architecture of Mulgore/Thunder Bluff.

Um hello

I think my KT looks pretty cool, have an iskaaran theme going right now. KT’s are also nice for pvp because of haymaker. When you’re playing arenas or SS, it lets you set up a very nice cc chain. If you’ve got a DH on you that you want gone and you’re about to burst on your target, haymaker into hex and earthgrab totem and then go ham on your target is chef’s kiss.

I absolutely love KT and Haymaker is sooo much fun, esp in World pvp…lotta good memories in SL Vampire area, boopin people off those lifts lol. I think imma go back to KT. Ill miss Fireblood though, but I wont miss the DI voiceover.

Goblin.
/thread

Mine is a Kul’tiran and I love her, but I’d have to say most thematic would have to be Mag’har orc with the brown skin tone.

Orc, obviously

I will say I think goblin is underrated. I know the canon lore is something like the goblins made deals with the elements to borrow their power, but when I play mine I think of it more so that the goblin technology literally collects elemental magic from the environment and then discharges it through spell casts. Their totems are drills with machines on top lol, machines to collect, amplify, and redistribute magic. That’s how I see it anyway.

I love my draenei shaman, but I’ll admit other races may work better with most shaman sets.

Pandaren shamans may be fat but they’re wise … wise and fat

Mag’Har Orc. I picked them because I love the Orc model in Shaman armor sets and their totems look great.

A lot of the older races never got updated totem models. Look at the Troll totem models for example, it’s so disgustingly old and unsightly. I suggest picking one of the newer races because they’ll have cooler updated totem models.

Tauren r the best and r the og shaman

Gnome WOULD be the best Shaman!

Anything small, a tail or 3 toes looks bad.
