At its peak?
Goblin, Gnomish (Mecha included) or Draenei?
I’d say Draenei, but I still haven’t done much of the mechagnome stuff. (I think they’re cool, though–just haven’t had much time to log on lately apart from raiding.)
Most likely draenei. Goblin and gnome ware are probably more readily available and crafted, but you can’t deny the marvel of blending magic and technology together to make a galactic ship that doubles as a refuge for an entire people.
Gnomish by far, but they are too stupid to use it so they can still be easily killed by troggs with sticks.
Gnomes can create:
-AI controlled mechs that speak English and love them (Bertha in Krasarang)
-Nuclear weapons
-Perfect cloning machines
-Flying fortresses (Alliance gunships)
-World Shrinkers
-etc etc etc
Draenei just have some magic rocks that the Naaru gave to their favorite pets to play with.
Army of The Light.
Maaaybe the Burning Legion.
It’s a bit of a coin toss between those two. Draenei are darn close though.
Draenie no doubt, they are in the space age.
high tech mechas hich tech-shields
Orbital weapons, inderdimensional spaceship, ect.
Gnomes… Draenei is more magic than tech. Gnomes use actual science and engineering in their tech. Draenei just store and direct empowered crystals.
Pure tech? Draenei are out, most of their stuff is magic powered.
Gelbin’s got an orbital strike in his arsenal somewhere judging by that last quest in the Gnome starter zone, and Gnomes outright used nuclear power.
What if instead of trying to prove superiority over the others, they all combined their intellect to revolutionize the modern Azeroth?
Goblin. What the Draenei have is crystal magic with the occasional tech flavor thrown in for incongruity’s sake. They don’t really do the tech or engineering thing. Maybe that’s why crashing is their standard ship landing protcol.
Dreanei are pretty rediculous with their magical tech. However, in terms of pure engineering and mechanical creations … Gnomes are probably the most advanced. Goblins have talent certain areas, but their real strength is in manufacturing over peak technological advancement.
Hard to top a world shrinking device, so I’d say gnomes.
For practical purposes, gnomes and goblins are effectively equal. They basically make the same stuff, but the gnomish stuff is less likely to backfire in a hilarious fashion. Both get the job done to the same extent, though.
I’m with those who think that the Dranei tech is really mostly magic gifted from the Na’aru. You don’t think of the Dranei as technological geniuses.
Actually the main difference between gnome and goblin tech is that gnomish backfires tend more towards the hilarious than the explosive.
Draenei have Light cannons, spaceships and mech suits not to forget they can create cybernetic suits to put their souls which can allow them to fight on and protect their people. The pylons store energy and produce power to much of their technology. I don’t think it’s an argument about which is articulated in any serious way.
We have an interdimensional traveling spacefaring species which at their peak had mastered technology which would make them a type 3 civilization. Humans in real life are a type 0. Gnomes are at the same or close to a type .5 level civilization with goblins right behind them. We would fail to understand their formulas and articulate the level of mechanics which they’ve mastered. Gnomes would drool for decades and fail to understand their genius. That said gnomes are more inventive and may catch up to Draenei if allowed to study their technology and sciences. Goblins will cheat off the gnomes and Draenei maybe in the distant future be surpassed by gnomish intelligence which is clever and quick in adaptation where Draenei are slow and calculating, but given their nigh immortal nature that’s not unexpected for a species so long lived.
You really don’t understand the scope of a type 3 civilisation. The Eredar were a one world civilisation which means they at most they make it as Type 1.
The Draenei’s transportation is borrowed from the Naaru.
I’m going to go with Naaru. Nobody else in the universe has managed interdimensional travel. If Kael’thas wasn’t a moron and dismantled the only example of it we had maybe we’d know how it works by now.
If were counting anyone at all, then the Titans have the most advanced tech by far.
Cough zug cough.
Id imagine the Titans can do anything the Naaru do and more.
Oh hey how’s Draenor? Ripped into pieces you say? Oh ok.
Yeah kinda forgot about them since they seem to use magic for everything despite leaving behind some of the most advanced ruins on Azeroth.
