Mortal Combo "bugged"?

After doing some testing, it appears that the MS that procs from the Mortal Combo conduit (https://www.wowhead.com/spell=339385/mortal-strike) is roughly 20% weaker than the casted MS (https://www.wowhead.com/spell=12294/mortal-strike). Also, while testing, I didn’t use overpower or cds at all. Didn’t have any periodic buffs that could skew the damage either. Just used MS on CD on a target dummy.

Anyone else noticing this or am I experiencing some kind of perception bias since it doesn’t proc very often?

If I’m not just perceiving things incorrectly, my guess is/it seems like the 20% buff that we got to MS a few weeks back may not have been applied to the spell that procs from Mortal Combo.

That is a good point. I noticed it was smaller, but I attributed it to a MS without OP buff. But if tested without OP then that is definitely something I could see happening with the 20% buff.

It could also be triggering Mortal Strike rank 1. Rank 2 at level 44 has a 20% increase in damage

Good point. Hopefully if either case is true, it’ll get adjusted to be the “full damage” MS… Hope it’s not just a tooltip issue and the weaker MS proc is intended.

Looks like they fixed it in the Jan 20 hotfixes.
