More than 20% of the playerbase plays PVP yet -

The PvP dev that quit said there were 3 people working on PvP, including himself.

More than 16% of the player base says their favorite game mode is PvP in Dragonflight, 4% in Classic.

Something seems off.

Edit: Yes, I am mostly known for RP but I love PVP too. People can enjoy multiple things.

Imo, that poll shouldn’t really be taken as more than a novelty. It’s cool to see some numbers and such but it’s not representing the whole playerbase. Only the forums. Forums where people can vote more than 100 times or something like that.

Maybe Raiding will finally take a back seat since M+ and PvP seem more popular.

Then again, a poll of forum users is likely to be biased, so while this might hint at insight, it is NOT actionable.

Forum users can vote multiple times on alts (WoW forums should really go to single ID bTags like other Blizz forums) and Forum users tend to be more negative than the general player base that is busy having fun playing the game rather than coming here to complain.

If they were smart they would hire a polling company like Triangle Park Research to construct a set of questions that will uncover what they want to know without leading the witness and sent to the emails of random subscribers in a sufficient number to be statistically significant (with the poll closing to that email once it has been taken so it can’t be shared multiple times). That poll would provide actionable insights, but this poll is just “novelty” as Pretiness said.

You can vote on the poll with each of your characters, and each vote counts. Therefore, this poll shows no actual statistically accurate data due to ease of which the results can manipulated.
