Bonesmith’s Satchel:
You have a chance to obtain a satchel of a bonesmith’s preferred ore and gems when you kill an enemy that yields experience or honor.
This is such a fun ability, and for this toon who isn’t a Miner, it’s a way to pick up free mats to sell. Do any other Covs have something comparable to this? If I make a farming toon I’d like to set them up to get a SB like this.

Night Fae’s Niya has one that yields Skins, Meat and Fish. It’s pretty helpful too, especially when you get Hides from it.

My experience the Bonesmith Satchel has been pretty meh.
Right when I unlocked the soulbind I immediately chose this. I was looking forward to this one. The first or second mob I killed dropped the satchel. I did a bunch more quests, killed a lot more mobs but no drops. After taking a couple hours break the first, maybe second kill got the satchel. But again, quested, kill a lot of stuff. nothing.
Signed on today to do dailies: again. first kill, got the satchel. So I assume there is an internal timer that is likely hours to get a satchel. So after you get the first one its a dead soulbind ability I cant help but think about all the other better soulbind choices im missing out on to have this one after that one drop. So to me it hardly seems worth it. I was really hoping this would allow me to get a bit more significant resources for crafting. Not as much as strictly farming of course, but some.
Even torghast, sometimes your anima power choice is a bag of mats. If that drop rate was slightly higher TC or even the main weekly wings would have SO much more re-playability for me.
It’s procing much more for me, or at least it feels like it is.
Also, for the Night Fae, you get it much earlier (mid-way on the first soul-bound character) and so my alt now has this and its happening more for me than it sounds like it’s happening for you.
after more experimentation i can confirm it is indeed procing alot more often than i had initaily experienced. its pretty good actually

These are the soulbind I run on every character and the reason I use them. Not much else worth using them for, but the mats are awesome.
It also feels like it’s not frequent enough to screw the market.
You can always get it and change paths for like 30m then change back for next one. It’s about a 30m icd
