Please Blizzard… why do we still get penalised for our time? When we start a key and halfway through nobody knows about shutdown in 15min before the comment is posted. The keystone is already depleted in our bags. It’s deflating for everyone.
What is this penalising culture? Streamers have said many times (and they collate information from the community!), there is no need to punish the keyholder. Keys should not be depleted if untimed. If you don’t time your key, you get less gear, you dont get as much rating, and you lose more personal time… Is it really necessary to deplete a key? If someone wants to run the same key over for a perfect run, that’s on them - who cares? Maybe there will be less rage quitters if they stay for gear. People might be more patient but still care enough for their character progression.
i agree, if you’re in a key when the servers go down you should automatically get it counted as a timed key and get loot mailed to you. i can’t think of a way that would be abused.
Yeah, they need to add a system so when they issue a shut down notice any on going mythic+ runs are given the option to end the run and the keystone is returned at the level being run. But if you decided to not accept that offer and race the shut down timer, then you have to face the lose if you don’t make it.
Kinda like a cop tells you ignorance is no excuse for the law, they look at it as it’s listed on the launcher. If we choose not to look at the clearly noticeable warning when we log in, then we’re not getting punished if we jump in a key right before it.
This can be exploitable though. If you know that blizz is going to do sweeping changes or the game has had stability issues you’ll make it a habit to always queue a high key before the usual times we get unscheduled maintenance (aka around 7 am pacific).
An option might be a good idea, I’d be happy for the keyholder to just get their key back or just have 1 hour notice, 45min notice, 30 min notice as well as the current notice. There was a time when we ran a key and only needed 1 more minute to complete for weekly reset (no shutdown) we got booted out of the dungeon. I wish we got something for that. It was another memorable and deflating moment for no real reason.
Tbh the shutdown notice become white noise, because it’s always there. Mostly the same every week. 5 people missed it… that says something, doesn’t it?
You mean that notice that is legitimately always there and pretty much always says the same damn thing about maintenance on Tuesday? That one?
Like it’s literally just white noise at this point most people ignore it because only once in a blue moon does the thing ever say anything other then “maintenance is happening at weekly reset”
well one thing they could do is make the dates and times in bold and put it in a colour that is colour blind friendly-ish… I mean it is 2022 not 1992 hehe
It’s just information overload, usually.
I really wish they had different styles for different announcements or a picture of some kind so when they had something other than the super common Tuesday notice they could change the picture and draw the eye to it.
It’s not difficult to change, so please don’t play it down, because the individual consequences are high. It is pure laziness on Blizzard’s part to say it’s been happening for decades - get off your butt and do something about it. Regular weekly reset/maintenance is tomorrow at this time! Improve the systems and evolve - this is the major reason for Blizzard’s downfall… Blizzard needs to evolve their games through gaming passion and not pay to win and just run on their weekly systems in hopes people will just keep paying for crappy service.
