I mean, when was the last time we had strong shaman representation and/or activity in the game? The only ones I can think of are Cataclysm and Legion (which doesn’t really count, since every class had their spotlight in the order halls). In WoD we had a bit with Drek’thar, on the Horde side early in the campaign.
You could kinda count Dragonflight with the Primalists, but they were just a bunch of random henchmen. DF was heavily druid-focused.
Even one of the most powerful and “important” shamans in the lore, Thrall, isn’t really a shaman anymore. He’s basically a warrior with elemental dysfunction.
I mean, the last time our class had any sort of protagonism was 16 years ago in Cataclysm.
Since the recent expansions had a strong Alliance bias, it was expected that shamans wouldn’t get much spotlight. But now in Midnight, since it’ll take place in Horde territory and Harronir can also be shamans, it would be nice to give some love to our so… humble class :c
Although the World Soul saga does seem pretty focused on Paladins and Shadow Priests (ish?).
(And hopefully Thrall can overcome his dysfunction.)
