Currently, every race has about two body types, right? Well, with the new update broadening the definition of what a body type is, why can’t we have more? Add a greater degree of customability to the game.
A perfect example is “fat” humans and “regular” humans. What if I could choose if I wanted a Kul Tiran type body for my Stormwind Human? Or vice versa? I’m not sure how easy or hard it would be to implement this kind of thing, but I think it would be a great feature and really help win over some people who are otherwise ambivalent to the whole thing.
The possibilities are varied and really exciting to think about: Skinny orcs, fat goblins, muscular elves. There’s a lot of great potential there.

We can. They’re just not implemented yet. Give 'em time.
I prefer sliders in games because of the absurd character models you can come up with, but since that’d break a ton of stuff in wow, yes, I hope a lot more selectable choices are added as time goes by.
Second Life supports this today and has for quite some time. To get from their earlier “toon” stage to what they call the “mesh” model required extensive work on their part.
Of course they have the advantage of the “members” doing most of the content creation leaving them to do this sort of thing.
My Belves are still waiting for curves…

Hey, if it means fixing the 20 different clipping issues on the male blood elf models and stiff animations, I am all for it.
Anything if it can fix the horrible waist/lower half and giant yaoi hands male NElves have, yes please.

I would love more body types–even if they were just simple alterations such as the posture options that were given to orcs. Considering the fact that Dracthyr dragon forms are set to have 4 completely different body types based on thickness and muscles, it gives me a lot of hope that Blizz could just as easily throw in a few slimmer/thicker options to some of the already existing races.

A another troll male body type would be great, maybe an Amani one

I would love for different feet sizes… the elves certainly have clown feet
Yes!! I want a female NE to be a bit thicker and she would be perfect to me.
Customization means so much to people.
I think Blizz could make so much chedda if they gave us more options with customization for our toons, player housing and more world events, super ez fun events - like trial of style coming up.
Elves supposedly evolved from Trolls. I don’t know if the lore supports it but it appears that there was an earlier species that was the Night Elves that evolved from Trolls then High Elves split off to form their own species (yeah they mislabel it a “race”).
Since then it appears the Nigh Elves continued as that middle species in the evolutionary chain where as High Elves evolved into what they are today.
Trolls ------ More Trolls --------------------------------------------------------
ssssss down slash here

ssssss sssssss High Elves ----- More High Elves ---------
Note: It won’t let me indent with spaces, hence the "sss"s

Have mentioned it in other threads, but it bears repeating that I would love to have a body option for my human mage that’s not apelike but also not rail thin (“thin” Kul Tirans take it too far). I want a physique that’d be reasonable for a nerd who hits the gym a couple days a week… maybe just a step below the musculature of blood/void elf males.
Yes, please. I want to be a jacked fox.
Need chubby gnomes. Like little Kirbys running around.

Needs to be a fatter female Draenei what if you don’t want to be super skinny.
What you are talking about sounds like what Second Life has had for a decade now, the ability to create a body with pretty much what ever dimensions you want and pretty much what ever surface you want.
For example, in Second Life if you wanted to look like a person with a big chin but be able to switch back and forth from that to a cat or zebra at will, you could do it easily.
Of course that would involve a major change to the game. Second Life could do it because it’s the members (i.e. the players) who create all the content with the build features. That leaves the Devs more time for that sort of thing.
Not sure if I’ve said it here, but using the male Ardenweald satyrs as a base for smaller male draenei would work amazingly, as well as recoloring female/male Kyrians for human body types. The thin model of Kul Tirans would be amazing to play too.
So many body types that are so easy to recolor and implement as playable and they just don’t.
I really want a blotted/fat obese undead body type for my mage…
