This is true. But for me personally, I think no changes is the best approach since we can’t all agree on what changes make the game worse and what changes make it better. At least with no changes you’re dealing with a known quantity and can make an informed decision to play or not. I’m not (I don’t think) unreasonable. I’ve even admitted a LFG that’s limited to the old world dungeons would probably be a good thing. But, you and I both know people would ask for more. They always do. And Blizzard would probably give it to them just to keep people subbed.
Well, if we’re being frank I was making fun of the fact that the game, as it is now, currently reflects my ideal in regards to dual spec, and not yours/pro-dual spec players.
That’s the lesson blizzard needs to learn from the history of wow. What changes were good and what changes were bad and when to stop.
That doesn’t seem to be the case so far. The changes made haven’t been too large imo. For example I think the boost was ok because it was only one, the new races couldn’t be boosted, and the gear the boosted character got sucked. Some asked for more but even though blizz could have made more money with unlimited boosts they said no. But it all comes down to opinion in the end.
I think those have contributed to the old world being dead. I know not everybody who bought a boost would have been willing to level the normal way, but some of them would have.
Let’s see how this holds up when Wrath comes out. If I’ve learned anything since I came back to WoW back in 2019, it’s that a lot of the player base is ready to pay to skip stuff.
I doubt it would have made much difference. The old world was dead because classic was not constantly getting millions of new subscribers like it was all through vanilla and original BC. The few that might have leveled through vanilla if there was no boost would have been negligible. I bought a boosted druid for BC but I would never have the time to level it up through classic. I already had a few 60’s and several in the 40 to 60 range I leveled in classic. Wasn’t going to start another one at level 1.
My name isn’t Frank.
Well I said if, so it was a hypothetical.
good
you should join them and go play your demonhunter on retail
Ok retail sounds good.
I knew a Frank.
Nice guy he was.
That seems strange, why would they start playing TBC in the first place? Did they not know that dual spec didn’t come out until wrath?
It’s not hypothetical at all. My name really isn’t Frank.
The situation in which your name would be frank, according to your interpretation of what I said, was tied to a hypothetical supposition.
That is a good question…
Probably because they wanted to make the lives of people who actually like the game as it was miserable by requesting unreasonable changes.
Exactly right.
This really should be the begin and end of this debate.
Did TBC have dual spec? No
The only argument that these people can muster is “well they’ve added other crappy changes, why can’t they add this?”
Just go play retail, it has all the QoL features you desire.
Okay, but if we’re playing pretend, I get to be Frank Sinatra, not just any ordinary Frank.
WotLK did, though, right?
Hmm, so WotLK is retail?
Good, quit. We are happy to see the dual spec fans gtfo. You are the minority. You are not welcome here.
Once again, Blizzard straight up said they’re embracing some changes and asked what the community would like to see in reference to QoL changes.
I’m sure you can go and find a “No-changes” private server with 10 people online.
We are absolutely not the minority. We’re the large majority.
