More Old Gods

Lore Question: It seems to indicate in the chronicle that the old gods were like spores… or tree pollen. Can’t the void lords keep on spitting more of these things out? Could we be hit, like meteors on earth, by 2 or 3 more?

I feel like this could be something the writers could run with, an ever-present threat of future new gods falling on Azeroth and without the titans to imprison these new ones… it falls to the heroes to handle them? Or worse yet, a new dark empire rises. cue spooky music

This is why we should have sided with N’zoth. Only the great tentacle lord can save us. :octopus:

They probably can send more of these things out, but they don’t have a whole lot of control over where they land. The Void Lords didn’t even know Azeroth was a baby Titan, they just flung Old God spores all across the universe.

Right, I wouldn’t expect to get lots of them but another 2 or 3 over the past few millennia wouldn’t seem too far fetched.

We going full Jenova I suppose

Sargeras (?) killed a whole world that was infested. Who knows how many other such worlds are out there.

There was a mini-C’Thun being summoned in Outland back in the day before we stopped it.

Thrall had a dream/vision in Cataclysm of many, many pockets deep in the earth.

In Legion, there were still whispers in Ulduar despite Yogg being “dead”

There is much we still don’t know about N’yalotha.

The sha / G’huun (sp?) provide an easy narrative path for infinite old god shenanigans - every time we kill one old god, every drop of blood has the potential to grow into a new one?

Writers can, at any moment, also just add one and worry about the explanation later (although that does make some people cranky)

Legion also has Star Augur Etreaus showing us an Old God corrupted planet.

based on past and new lore the oldgods came in to the cosmos thanks to the ethereals, xal’atoth was mentioned to have been given her staff by the voidlord they accidently summoned. based on what we know of the voidlords takes a bunch of energy for them to manifest so how did send oldgods in, well logic only concludes the they did this the one time they did come into the cosmos at the ethereals homeworld meaning that is the entry point of the oldgods in the cosmos and possibly a place we may go to.

They cannot anymore as that was back during Primordial Azeroth. Now that life has sprung up and created a rich atmosphere any Old God would burn up on entry.

Now An’she and Elune/Mu’sha… those two are void touches and do not have the Earth Mother’s protection.

The thing is, the ones that fell on Azeroth were just luck of the draw so to speak. The Void Lords spat out so many that by pure probability, at least one might have landed on Azeroth. I mean Argus got lucky and no Old God landed on him… instead he got Sargeras…

So who is to say that the next round, none land on Azeroth.

I was thinking, based on probability, that since the originals… eons have passed and it would or could be likely that another round of spores have been spread across the universe.

Perhaps in Midnight the Void Lords spit out an army, multiple new horrific world corrupting gods, and so forth. So in essence new stuff like you’re talking about.

Plot twist: Nomi was a old god all along.
