anyone from the alpha or beta know if we’re going to have more of this joke where you have to have 40…50…60 of some idiotic soulbound mat thats going to be a complete headache to even get?
Im only taking one character into SLs after this BFA fiasco, and I’d like to have a heads up if its going to be another irritating game of standing at some klinking contraption praying to the RNG gods that I dont get screwed by whatever its spewing out.

I could deal with explosum, sanguine, breath of bwon if it wasn’t all freaking soulbound. At the very least account bound would’ve been manageable.
Thats a huge part of the problem, yeah. Ive got a TON of soulbound mats on characters that have no crafting at all, lol.

Whats wrong with expolsum? I’ll clear any misconceptions up for you about it.
They have no plans of any mats like that for Shadowlands, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard stuck it in at the last second for some reason.
Crafting looks absolutely fantastic for next expansion and I don’t want to jinx it but it hasn’t looked this good in a very, very long time.
I think the route Blizzard took with legendary items will make crafting useful for the majority of the expansion, and give crafters real appeal like they used to have.

Oh…like the time i ran 42…FORTY TWO…items thru that dirty machine before I got a single Expulsom LMBO 
I understand. It’s the easiest “soulbound” item to get. You can simply craft tidespray linen bracers. It’s like a 1/6 or 1/7 chance to get an expolsum? Any fresh 120 can easily rack up a few hundred for not that much gold. In fact its probably the easiest materiel to get when crafting. The shreds of insanity that require multiple heroic clears for each toon is probably the worst…
Thats precisely what I did. But instead of getting the expected drop rate I put hundreds and hundreds of those thru the machine and ended up with very few expulsom. Put a ticket it over it.
When I tried it more recently it seemed to be maybe one expulsom for 10-14 pieces run thru it…which sounds like its still a low drop rate based on what others were saying.
I have quite a bit on other characters who are also sitting on mounds of Blood of Sargeras that I cant bring myself to vendor, lol, but have no use for it as far as crafting goes.
Its just a stupid way of dong things honestly.
Stop making crap soulbound like this. At least let our own mats be account bound
Could just be a small sample size? I’m sure if you crafted hundreds of bracers you’d see it average out.
Very annoyed at the massive quantities of soulbound and bottlenecked crafting materials and hoops to upgrade focus station to craft useless gear with RNG stats

just to give an idea here, I spent just about 70,000 gold on mats to rush from about 135 on my eng up to 168.
Thats how bad it was.
When was it any different? Back in the day when I crafted “Boots of Natural Grace” for my bear tank in Burning Crusade you had to get the recipe to drop from a raid. The recipe was soulbound, which meant you needed to run it, you could not buy it off the AH or any alternative way. Then ontop of that there were other BoP materials needed to craft it. What we have now is as streamlined as it’s ever going to get.
Oh I missed that part, maybe the drop rate has changed since then. I just know it used to be a very cost effective method, appose to…farming greens in 2x4 groups or something.

AFTER I got up on my ENG skill I tried it again and yeah…it was MUCH better.
For those days I was working on ENG, it was seriously killing me.
I don’t mind soulbound mats as far as obtaining them goes, I just don’t like not being able to sell them if I don’t need them, which has been almost all of this expansion lol.
It’s sort of stupid to craft like 200 of those bracers to only get like 8 expulsom… Like really stupid. And if your server undersells the products it can be a risky market to see what to actually craft.
It is bound. I have a ton sitting on gatherers that is absolutely useless. I suppose they keep all that blood from legion and whatever the crap was we had in warlords company.
The drop rate for expulsom being what it is made it an incredibly frustrating thing to farm, particularly when I was trying to craft my 470 gear and kept getting bad stats on the pieces mandating that I go through the whole process of grinding craftables for hours; I probably spent somewhere around 6-7 hours doing nothing but buying bloodstained bone and shimmerscale to make bracers and shoving them into the grinder before getting a poor stat piece and having to go through it all over again.
And while SL is looking to have a whole new system of complexity that echo’s classic’s crafting systems, the simple fact that I can influence what stats I get is going to be an amazing breath of fresh air.
