More Nerfs To SL Balance Druids

Why did they put all this time into totally reworking Balance just to continue nerfing it into the ground? Ok they gave a small buff to sunfire and moonfire dot damage but…

nerfed Celestial Alignment to 10% haste
nerfed base MAstery from 11% to 9%

guess i’ll be playing resto mostly if i want to play this druid. balance looking doa

I dunno after checking ~https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/dps-rankings-tier-list and watching a video the other day that puts them in A-tier for mythic + they don’t seem that bad to me.

What are you even talking about? They buffed some abilities and nerfed others to take the emphasis off cooldowns and onto rotation. This isn’t a nerf at all, if anything it’s probably a slight buff because we’ll be more viable outside of cooldowns which is great for things like M+. Just read the patch notes again, many spells got a pretty considerable buff or rework even though some did indeed get nerfed. Besides, if the way they’re doing the patches says anything it says they’re FAR from done balancing specs.

Also, keep in mind Balance utility is through the roof insane. Some groups will bring a balance Druid just for their utility alone. A balance Druid can literally fill ANY role for 45 seconds every 5 minutes, Innervate the healer to save from wipes, de-enrage mobs saving the tank huge amounts of health, has numerous things available in terms of CC and brings one of the nearly required pieces of utility: Bres. Balance Druids are going to be so solid this expansion I’ve debated going Balance over Guardian or Resto (which I’m better at).

Maybe I missed something? Because the only buff I saw was to sunfire and moonfire dot damage and a nerf to mastery and celestial
alignment. Where did you see “many spells” getting a considerable buff??

They’re trying to shift damage outside of Incarn windows because Boomies are pretty great while it’s active and pretty garbage outside of it. They’re changing sources of damage now, then they apply aura buffs to (hopefully) even performance across specs.

Hopefully you’re right about this. Mythic+ isnt the only content. And I’d really be disappointed if balance is bad in raids since I planned on doi g some raiding again this expac

I noticed a lot of beta feedback was toward dots being weak, with balance druid being cooldown dependant.

Music to my ears, I don’t want to hit like a wet noodle outside of long cool downs.

The best change is to the Starfire during Eclipse, they moved it from AoE buff to crit! This makes me so happy!

Cyouskin (who is a very knowledgable player of this spec) literally said in the other thread that this was a nerf and that we are currently at tank level damage. So if we dont see buffs in the next few builds this will be a doa spec

Ranged dps has historically been given an almost free pass in raiding. Unless moonkin dps is absolutely dumpster tier, you’ll still get into a raid just fine.

Yeah I’m not really worried about getting into a raid. I’ll just form my own if I need to. Mostly I just wont play balance if its garbage tier though. I’ll wind up healing, which is ok because I dont mind healing. Was just looking forward to balance being good. Hopefully we are getting some buffs now that they tinkered with the damage profile

I dont really think any of the other druid specs will be top tier as long as resto has the position it has. Resto makes druid the most played class in game, and in reality prevents the other 3 specs from being top tier

If having one good spec prevents the other three specs from being good, then why do we have four specs? Should i be preaching for Resto nerfs so Feral/Guardian/Balance can be good? I never liked that logic. Aren’t they already making certain classes pretty much mandatory by removing scrolls and nerfing drums into the ground? I don’t want to be top tier, but i’d like to be competitive.

I’m all in for role balancing. I’d love seeing Druid tanks having their uniqueness when compared to other tanks. The same is true for Druid healers and Druid dps.
Even though i’m a passionate Feral player, i don’t care if Balance outperforms Feral, as long as we have a Druid dps spec that is at least competitive in each environment.

Anyways, no Feral changes is kind of disappointing (well i guess they buffed moonfire). I really wanted to know what they’re thinking and to which direction they’re aiming to take the Druid class. I feel like we have tons of great feeback from great players in here, so it would be really nice to hear something from them at this point.

This great “unpruning” has definetly been of the biggest benefit for resto druids. I do personally think its time resto druids took a break from the throne.

I don’t think resto is king for raiding. But without a redesign, resto’s kit will always be great for mythic+

Not for raiding no, but m+ and pvp. Top healer for 2/3 of content is in my book king ^^

I think that when they are king for 2/3 of endgame content it will also make people chose it for raids because even though its not the best it lets them play all of the game.

why we got celestial alignment nerf, too much haste?? is 10% haste on a 3m CD while priest has power infusion with 25% haste on 2m CD

last time i was on the ptr i joined a group fioghting nathanos and priests were literally pulling 3 times the damage as bookin and other specs were.

That’s the great and terrible part of PTR. It’s a TEST realm. Some players understand that and don’t read between the lines. Others use it as a way to figure out how their class/spec will do which generally changes before launch. Blizzard has been doing a lot of class and spec tuning this expansion so I wouldn’t worry about being “garbage tier”. Just about any spec will be viable, even if some are ahead of others.
