can we please get more macros slots like i have alts im leveling and im unable to make macros for them unless im limit them to the standard class like 16
Tryin to cost us a raid tier?
Check out the addon BINDPAD, really impressive tool. it can also bind normal spells off the screen
Why don’t you use general macros?
obviously it full
How do you have that many macros.
I think bindpad might work for you
Then bundle your abilities together.
For example.
One macro that switches to whatever main spell I use depending their spec
#showtooltip
/Cast [known:11366] Fireball;[known:31687] Frostbolt;[known:44425] Arcane Blast
/Cancelaura Ice block
/Cancelaura Slow Fall
Same thing for this, switches to the specs proc depending what spec you are.
#showtooltip
/Cast [known:11366][]Pyroblast;[known:31687]Frostfire Bolt;[known:44425]Arcane Missiles
#showtooltip
/use [known:44457][]Living Bomb;[known:44425]Arcane Barrage;[known:31687]Deep Freeze
You can even do it for different classes if you really wanted.
#showtooltip
/use [@cursor,known:16914]Hurricane;[@cursor,known:2120]Flamestrike;[@cursor,known:43265]Death and Decay;[@cursor,known:1725]Distraction
#showtooltip
/use [@mouseover,known:30449]Remove Curse;[@mouseover,known:527]Dispel Magic;[@mouseover,known:370]Purge;[@mouseover,known:2782]Remove Corruption
I don’t even think having the known conditional is needed but you can just bundle your spells like this and it saves macro slots.
Just curious, does everyone use macros or are expected to? How common are they?
Macros are mostly QoL stuff or combining uses into one press of a button, for example using Flamestrike and a Saronite Bomb together.
Another example is this…
#showtooltip
/cast [combat]Rebirth;Revive;[group:raid]Revitalize
It casts Bres if I’m in combat, normal res if I’m out of combat but mass res if I’m in a raid so that saves me 3 action bar slots. Just QoL stuff really.
But for TBC it kinda was required for Lady Vashj, maybe not post-nerf but pre-nerf it was really nice to have.
That’s amazing, I had no idea that was possible for multiple classes.
I do have clique to reduce them if needed, but at the start of Cata it was borked so I just made macros.
Yeah, it’s really handy when you’re running out of character macro slots, you can place those “common” macros like a simple @cursor macro of one ability into multiple, saving space slots.
I don’t think I’m using all 18 of my character macro slots on any of my characters, the closest would be my Mage on 15/18 but before I started combining abilities in macros I did have 18/18 macros used. Full of single spell macros that only had @cursor/cancelaura etc. on them and now I only have 2 @cursor macros (Blizzard and Blast Wave).
If you want to make a spec specific macro like this one…
#showtooltip
/Cast [known:11366] Fireball;[known:31687] Frostbolt;[known:44425] Arcane Blast
/Cancelaura Ice block
/Cancelaura Slow Fall
Just use the ability you get from that spec, which would be Living Bomb for fire and it’s what those numbers are for the known conditional, it’s the spell ID. So it’s /cast [known:spellID] spell you want to cast etc.
Hope that helps.
My priest has by far the most with a lot of them being combo mouseover heal & sometimes mouseover, sometimes not damage spell. It definitely spilled over into the general which is 2/3 full with other specs hitting over 18 for the same reasons you used to, so reducing a few of those that are practically the same will be nice.
That’s a very old addon. I had no idea it was still a thing.
wow this is amazing thank you
Use Clique. You can keybind as many macros as you want.
i shouldnt have 2 not only that ur macro garbage most people who use macros dont use a macro with a simplified 1 abilioty button some of use focus 123 among other ur just a simp looking for attention on a productive post
That seems unnecessarily rude, and attacking for no reason.
Then don’t.
Let’s see some examples of your macros, and whether they make sense to consolidate or not.
Are you alright mate? I was mearly giving a suggestion as believe it or not, I used to have full macro slots in my character specific macros which is no longer the case because I consolidated my abilities like the ones you call bad. Might be bad but it gets the job done.
Sure beats having to make three seperate macros for having a cancel aura on Ice Block, Invisibilty and Slow Fall on my main spells.
I can see how…
#showtooltip
/use [known:44457][]Living Bomb;[known:44425]Arcane Barrage;[known:31687]Deep Freeze
Is a bad macro but the @cursor/main spell ones are bad macros? That one macro saves 3 macro slots with the other saving two. You can add Heroic Leap, Earthquake, etc to the cursor macro and save even more macro slots. Unless you want to see the spell retical which would be fair.
If you want to make a focus macro then make a focus macro, personally I have shift and ctrl for my key bindings so me adding a modifier like that to my macros is pointless just have multiple on your bars that do different things it’s not that hard
And out of curiosity, what kind of macros are you using/making while leveling to warrant you not only running out of character slots but also general slots which has a cap of 120. It’s unbelieveable that you’re hitting this cap with you simply leveling a lot of characters. Are you making a macro for every melee ability to have /startattack?
Yeah ok you use focus macros that’s nice, i don’t know what 1,2,3 is unless you’re talking about arena and if you are then you can use /tar arena 1,2,3 as well. Either way though the topic of this is about you leveling alts, not about arena so here’s what I’m going to say.
You don’t need to macro all of the abilities the game gives you, for the most part you’re likely to only macro important abilities, Shred, Sinister Strike, Steady Shot etc. You don’t need /start attack on Eviserate (not saying your are) just give your macros an objective once over and actually see if they’re needed if space is an actual issue for you.
You get 138 macro slots, (including the 18 from character specific slots) there’s 100% bloat that you can get rid of, there’s no way that you need all 138.
There is no way you used every general slot plus the specific character slot especially on warrior… For macros… I’d like to see what you’re actually using and which ones you’re remaking. I call full BS
I’d be surprised if any class uses more macros than warriors in general. But that’s an aside.
It would be quite easy to use the allotment of character specific macros on a warrior, but you could also likely redo a lot of them, and make better use of stance bars to reduce the need for a lot of them.
