Would love to see some new glyphs come in for shaman. It feels like Shaman is one of the easier classes to do glyphs for while still maintaining and respecting class/spec fantasy but for some reason it has a very small amount of glyphs to choose from. Druids and locks have multiple customization options to change their form colors and pets, monks have the ability to change the color of Crackling jade lightning and Rising sun kick, DKs have the ability to change their ams colors, etc.
Examples of what would be cool to see:
-Glyphs to change our Ghost wolf form into an Elemental Ghost wolf. 1 glyph for each element type ie fire, nature, lightning and wind (the blue form we have kind of works for water already). Essentially just adding 1 of these elemental effects to the ghost wolf form and we can pick based on individual glyph. Should stack with ghost wolf glyphs that change ghost wolfs form.
-Glyphs to change our elemental shields into elements we dont have available for them. Ie Glyph of Lava Shield: Turns your chosen elemental shield into a Lava Shield (can be applied to only 1 shield, but can pick which one) and Glyph of Wind Shield: Turns your chosen elemental shield into a Wind Shield (same as above)
-Glyphs to change the color of lightning bolt to other colors that lightning tends to take on ie Glyph of Red Lightning: Your Lightning Bolt takes on a red appearance and Glyph of White Lightning: Your Lightning Bolt takes on a white appearance
-Glyph of Cyclonic Winds: Your Doom Winds now envelops you in a storm cyclone. Dathea is a good example of how this could look cool, just remove the arms/head of the elemental she is inside of and add some lightning effects to it, and possibly make the shaman float with this too since it’d be a cyclone.

I would fight Green Jesus himself for the chance at changing my Elementals with Glyphs. Give me Pandaria fire kitty. Give me those cool elementals we saw in DF.

Of course but this is the shaman forums lol, going to discuss shaman glyphs here. But there should definitely be glyphs for all classes.
Right? I’d love to be able to change our elemental shields up a bit. Players will get used to what glyphs are in the game, it isn’t going to confuse players. They can also make it so the elemental shield glyphs aren’t visible to other players only to you in PvP or something so people don’t get “confused” there, but realistically each shaman can only have 2 shields, and the options for ele and enh are lightning shield/earth shield, resto is water/earth, and people check enemy buffs in pvp anyway.
Just wanted to say something about that since that was there reasoning for being careful with glyphs and customizations, that it would confuse pvp players.
Hope we see some new glyphs in Midnight and throughout Midnight. It is such an underutilized system.

If blizzard gave us a glyph that turned all our spell animations into lightning (even if it’s just visible to us), I would be so happy.

The glyph system is such a wasted potential. They could easily give each class 10 glyphs or more for cool visual effects but rarely touch up on them.

They’re some of the best elementals I’ve seen, and it’s a shame blizz isn’t giving them to shamans.

I’m never gonna say no to new glyphs, and I think a good start would be giving each race a unique feral spirit/ghost wolf, as wolves only really make sense for orcs/maghar.
Ex:
Dwarf - Rams
Draenei - Talbuks
Dark Iron - Blazehounds
Kul Tiran - Stags
Orc - Wolves
Tauren - Plainstriders
Troll - Raptors
Goblins - Crabs
Highmountain - Eagles
Mag’har - Dire Wolves
Zandalari - Direhorns
Vulpera - Coyotes
Pandaren - Turtles
Earthern - Ramoliths
As for the shields, they really just need updated looks from their vanilla ones. I’d prefer If you did not see the shield until it was triggered, as it would make it feel more reactive and you could give cool animations/talents associated with the shields to make them a bigger part of shaman gameplay.

Yeah it is completely wasted potential right now. We got new ascendance glyphs which were awesome, but people have been begging for glyphs that let them customize some spell colors in a way that makes sense for the spec.
And shaman is one of the best and easiest classes to do that for since we have the elements. Like examples I gave in the op, changing earth shield to lava shield or lightning shield to wind shield visually would be really cool, allowing us to infuse our ghost wolf forms with elements, changing lightning bolts color, etc. So many things they can do.
Missed this when I read your post the first time. I’ll be real I have no idea why we dont have elementals in the dressing room like locks do their pets, there are so many elemental models in the game we are not using for our elementals.
A glyph that hides the elemental sheilds entirely, please.
I wish they used Shadowlands Fae Forms.
My Shaman, who is distinctly a Wildhammer Dwarf, I PvPd like a mad man to unlock the Gryphon Form. It was absolutely perfect.
The Dream would be to also allow Feral Spirits to change aswell to said form.
Now imagine a Wildhammer Dwarf summoning Elemental Gryphons or even becoming one for travelling.
I wish Blizzard one day realise the untapped potential glyphs for Shaman they could have.
I would love to see a glyph that cause lighting or wind to cover our bodies think shadow form for shadow priest but with lighting or wind.

Definitely want to see more glyphs for our class. Feels like theres a lot they can do with shamans in particular glyph-wise, and yet our glyphs kind of lack heavily. Theres a few good ghost wolf glyphs, spirit raptors for enhance wolves, and then a few for hex. The most recent ones with Ascendance forms were awesome, and thats the kind of stuff players really want to see.
I’m not sure why shamans dont have glyphs to change the color of Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning to other relevant lightning colors like red or white/gray. I also really like the idea of having a glyph to make our Lightning Shield a Magma Shield in appearance, and our Earth Shield or Water Shield a wind shield in appearance.
More glyphs for our ghost wolf forms would be great too, especially adding some cool elemental themes to them. Would also be great to pick different forms for our eles, ie the different fire ele forms that have popped up over time, earth ele forms, etc.

Just wanting to add more customization is a huge plus! I’d like more races for the Shaman and it would be really bis if we could collect Ghost Wolf appearances (like Druid forms) and change them up in the Barber Shop. Cherry on the top would be to customize Elementals in there too.

You would think being the “4 elements” class we’d have as the most glyph options, I hope it’s something they look at soon (and for all classes too)
Personally I would really like to see a “water” glyph for lightning lasso (think rapid stream of water for the lasso and the target is lifted off the ground by a whirlpool)
More options for elementals and totems as well, like an ice elemental glyph for the earth elemental, and for totems, maybe like elemental rifts for totems (just small swirling mass the size of a totem).
But, yes, glyphs, glyphs, and glyphs, please (or something for spell customization, anything lol)

Yeah thats what I dont understand. It feels like Shaman is one of the easiest classes to make glyphs for considering you can just make a lot that deal with customizing our spells around element colors that our class uses. Seeing a red lightning bolt isn’t confusing to anyone, shaman has that color associated with it already.
Lightning lasso taking on a wind lasso, magma or water lasso appearance
Lightning bolt/Chain Lightning getting a red color and white color (a lot of our class sets have red lightning and white lightning in them too)
Magma Shield and Wind Shield becoming glyphs that we can turn our other elemental shields into (ie can change lightning shield into magma shield, and earth or water shield into wind shield). We have 2 elements that are seen often across our class that we just dont have available for elemental shields? thats really weird to me, just make them glyphs, doesnt have to be a gameplay thing.
and our ghost wolf form not having any elemental themes we can apply to them despite having many elemental wolf forms throughout the game is crazy.
Glyphs are vastly underutilized despite being one of the best systems for customization. And the crazy thing is, glyphs and their potential are pretty uniqe to WoW. No other mmorpg has this level of customization, but the devs are way afraid to approach glyphs and expand on them. If ffxiv had glyphs like this to change spell effects and stuff they’d be all in on it, and if they did this I’m sure the wow devs would realize the value in doing it lol. It’d be nice to see the devs jump on something that is completely unique to WoW and really integrate it into the game.
This sounds sick, the spirit side of shaman is very underrepresented in game unfortunately.
I honestly think enhance could be a great outlet to explore the whole “spirit-warrior” concept which would be both unique and give it more of an identity, rather than just a melee elemental shaman.

Glyphs have been left in the past for so long now. Every class has tons of potential for glyphs. Would love to be able to change my pandaren sham elementals to actual pandaren elementals. There are loads of elementals in games that could be either racials versions or glyphs. Ghost wolf is another that would do well to have racial versions or tons of glyph options.
Better yet, let us unlock different elementals, ghost forms and totems and add them to the barbershop.

I dont see the Gryphon glyph suggestion here. Personally the only glyphs shaman needs right now is racial ghost wolves, and the old Ascension glyph that let us keep our form but get a elemental aura.
I want glyphs for Dark Shaman aesthetics.
I’d like racial feral spirit too.
It’s nuts to me that we have ghost wolf and feral spirit options for raptors, but fox only has ghost wolf.
I’d love for my Dwarf to have the option to go into Ram or Gryphon ghost wolf / summon spectral rams / gryphons with feral spirit.
