With the new character customization options coming in Shadowlands, I think this would be the perfect time to also add a more complete gender selection. Such as transgender, non binary, or gender fluid, so people can have a character that really reflects how they feel in real life.
Also, the option to select which pronoun NPCs will refer to you as, including they/them, please.

Ok, besides the way you’re treated on dialogues, which is almost always a you or a generic word like champion, how wpuld thos even work? Your gender selection only affects the model of your character.

As a trans myself. I really doubt being trans exists THAT much in Azeroth. “Oh you have gender dysphoria? Here’s a spell. GG” Azeroth has no reason to hate trans people in comparison to our world.
Altho I wouldn’t mind a they/them option. I might not need it but I know some would like it.

To be fair trans people do exist in other MMORPGs out there right now. LGBT/Trans characters have been in ESO all along and that game handles them elegantly by…allowing them to exist. They’re there, living their lives and are normalized within the setting.
Then again ESO’s storytellers aren’t Blizzard.
I love WoW when its at it’s best but this game has always had the subtlety and grace of a sledgehammer in terms of narrative and characters. So I guess if there were trans characters around we’d uh…know.
